You mean the same Nate Clements that cost us a game and kept up us from being 7-9
with at least a chance for this sh*tty division? That one

I don't think so, Whitner may be the best signing for the secondary but nothing too special. The CBs are still a problem I mean Carlos Rogers isn't much better than Clements and Spencer is average. The niners didn't really improve the secondary they just filled spots and still don't have enough depth. There's no upgrade they just grabbed rentals to fill the spots.

I feel like we upgraded a little talent wise and hopefully the new coaching staff does the rest. Also it depends on how much pressure we can get on the QB since the two go hand in hand

lol. rogers murders clements cover skills. and whitner lead the nfl in tackes outside of linebackers. no matter what we upgraded

I agree with this, but if the D can go from 24th against the pass to 15th, while its not great, it would be a huge improvement over the disaster that was last season.
They were so bad last year, that type of improvement isn't totally unrealistic, especially if our pass rush under Fangio improves.

Our 3-4 is said to be far more aggressive and well more disguised! This can only help our secondary!

Rogers also couldn't catch a cold and came from a defense that ranked 31st in pass defense and while Clements was burned a lot at least he's good enough to be a pro bowler. Like I said Whitner was the best signing for the secondary but he's not a playmaker either. If anything the secondary is the same. The upgrades were Braylon Edwards and Jonathan Goodwin thats it.
