no. even if there was the chance he'd be healthy, the fact that he was put on IR means that he can't be activated any time this year.

DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

More Kyle Williams, Less Edwards and Ginn.

The problem is, Edwards is not doing it on gameday and seems to be a liability, at least until he's at or near 100%. Williams has shown he needs more touches anyway and the rest can only help speed Edwards' recovery. If you don't think your backup is at least as good as your dinged up starter who is not performing, what does that say about the reserve guy?

He is admitting an injury now and perhaps that will help get Williams some playing time. Edwards was very impressive early on and he and Alex had chemistry, so I would hate to see him regress any more. It would be so nice to finish the season with at least two WRs playing every game so the O could jell and become more efficient. That is the only problem this year and while many would blame Smith, it seems obvious to me that the WRs are not making an impact as they should.

Harbaugh's system is TE friendly but the team seems to be trying to get the WRs more involved at the expense of the TEs. Just have to wait for it all to come together. I'm almost ready to have VD and Walker play WR at this point!

Ginn actually surprised me last week and played well until the last play...so maybe he and Smith are starting to get it together?

I think Braylon's injuries are legit. He held out not giving the injuries as an excuse. When the media starts questioning his performance, at some point, he has to give it up and referenced the injuries. I hope Harbaugh is smart enough to realized that and not go all 'Nolan on Smith'

Off tangent, but how about Rex Ryan on Sanchez...."the stupidest thing in football history". Defensive HC just don't know how to handle their QB.

#49ers WR Braylon Edwards is not on the practice field

I had a feeling he was gonna be a bust with us. We never have any luck with free agent WRs, we've tried many through the years and all have flopped. Many different receivers but one constant is Alex at QB.

His fans may not want to admit it but playing with Alex is career suicide for WRs. There is a reason that big time WRs avoid the 49ers.

Good news/bad news.

Bad news = he won't play this week or maybe next.

Good news = it may be very easy to re-sign him to a minimal contract next season with some heavy incentives.

He was a coach killer, now he's killing his receivers.

Funny.

Crabtree, Morgan, now Edwards. They've all been hurt catching passes from Smith. Crabtree way back in 'Camp Alex'. That's some seriously bad mojo
