How Do Younger Niner Fans Become Niner Faithful???

i was about 5 years old when the 49ers went back to back in 88 and 89 so yeah and i stood with them ever since

No doubt man... I have serious respect for that. You guys are the fans who will deserve it most when they are winning again.

I'm 24 and have never seen the Niners in the SB, I was overseas in 94 and wasn't into football yet. My dad always followed the Niners and I kinda followed him into it.


It's the history that gets me and I'd love to experience the resurgence of the franchise but it's tough. I've only seen the niners win like 3 or 4 playoff games. I just think about how happy I'd be if the Niners won the SB.

i was a fan since birth. They were my father's team. Born in 82 in CA, it was impossible not to be a fan. anyhow, true fans stick with their team through the good times and the bad. this bad streak is just more validation that they are real fans and were rooting for them even when there wasnt much to root for.

Thankfully I was born into being a 49ers fan they have always been my dads team everyone else in my family is Skins fans because that was the team for people who grew up in Norfolk, Virginia. My first memory of watching the 49ers was the 94 NFC Championship with my dad when I was 5 :)

My dad was a huge fan, he was in the corner of the endzone at "The Catch" (I was a year old - not there). I grew up watching the team every Sunday since I could remember.

We've ran into rough times, but we will get back to the top soon.

I'm 35 years old and went to my first practice when I was 6 years old. My mother, grandfather and step grandmother were all 49er fans. I guess I was born in it, but had a choice. I moved to Indianapolis when I was 11. I travel to games that are close to Indy and have had the Sunday Ticket for about 10 years.

My daughters mother has 2 young boys ages 7 and 9 who were forced to become 49er fans. LOL. They will tell you that I made them. My daughter of only 19 months will be a 49ers fan as well. I feel sorry for her boys because they are fans and have not seen our team have a winning season. That's faithful for you. Being a fan of team that has not won a darn thing and you still cheer them on. Atleast I was there for the glory days.

I was born in 1979, so I can't identify with the younger fans, since my earliest Niner memories involved Superbowls. I do know that I was a fan before I understood football, since my dad was obsessed with the Niners, and I wanted to live. My first toy that I can remember was a Joe Montana football. My bedtime stories involved Brodie, the Million Dollar Backfield, and RC Owens. I have to confess that, as a 4 year old, I would occasionally say, "Go raiders," just to get my dad to chase me through the house. Anyway, some of the young fans might have had dads like mine who remember the good years, and raise their kids to be Faithfull. That's what I'm doing. My 2 year old screams w/joy when Gore or Willis are on tv. That's just good parenting.

I'm 23 years old and since 1999 I haven't missed a single game (Live, TV, Radio). I missed out on the 80's and 90's unfortunately but as a die hard fan, if and when the 49ers win their next championship... man...

I'd say you become a niner faithful, just by sticking with the team thru thick and thin.

Because above all, one thing i can say about our fans, whether our mindframes are skewed, crazy, or actually sensible, is that we all love our team and will come against anyone that speaks outside of our inner circle.

Just support the team, whether u like or dislike any one, or group of players and or coaches, and the faithfulness will definitely come.
