In a Webzone of "Fanboys" and "Haters", I felt it necessary to create a thread for those of us who view this draft with mixed feelings.
I love/hate the Aldon Smith pick, tremendous upside, some absolutely unteachable natural ability, great tackle for loss, and sack numbers, but poor foot work, upright running style, and tendency to "dip and rip" (not gonna work on pro level) Still all said could be the next Ted Hendricks!
Colin Kantspellhisname, Great TD to INT ratio, great athlete, just not the instant answer we are looking for. Still Harbaugh, knows way more than I.
Love the two guard picks, spell competition for Chilo "Swing gate" Rachel.
Stoked on a "Scat back" looking forward to his speed on 3rd downs.
Choice of CB/S, leaves me scratching my head, but again smarter minds at work.
The rest camp fodder but you never know.
Lastly trading so much for Kantspellhisname, left me uneasy.
All in all not a great draft in the near future, more one of those wait and see drafts. This team has been down so long, I think my anger and disappointment stem from a lack of immediate help in this drat.
If you LOVE this draft post elsewhere, if you HATE this draft, relax, and then go post elsewhere.
This thread is for intelligent thought and critical thinkers only, that being said I stand ready to see trolls piss all over it!

Save me a spot on the fence.
None of the picks made me jump for joy like in past drafts. But that doesn't mean I'm closing the door. My skepticism is probably because of past ineptitude in our front office. I'm willing to trust Harbaugh and Co. until they give me a reason not to.
My favorite pick was probably Kendall Hunter. He's the change of pace guy we need behind Gore, and then you've got Dixon for short yardage running. Nice trio.

I was looking over this list last night, and truthfully, most of these drafts don't have more than one or two real contributors in them, if any at all. I think that goes for the rest of the league too, just take a look at the rest of the guys the Patriots drafted the year they took Tom Brady.
Most drafts are defined by a single player, and as Barrows pointed out in the Bee this morning, we'd all better hope Kaepernick becomes that player. If he does, no one will remember or care we "reached" for a DB in the third round or took a converted DE to play FB in the seventh.
If CK becomes a star, we can all get off the fence with smiles on our faces. If he doesn't, we'll probably all remember this draft as a failure. For now, be cautiously optimistic... if for no other reason than it's more fun than the alternative.

I was firmly on the entrenched on the fence with this draft, particularly with our 2nd pick, until I read this story.
Kaep has destiny behind him, u don't screw with destiny.

The whole point of posting is that you're exposing your ideas to everyone's opinion, not just those who agree/disagree with you. Just seems a bit weak of an argument to need a separate space for this.
Point of the thread is simple, no hating, no all out myopic fanboydom! This draft is not the worst thing to happen to the niners ever, nor is it a lead pipe lock on a trip to the superbowl.

I think we had a solid draft when everything is looked at from a distance. When it happened, it was a head-scratcher for me but that's probably good because the way we have been doing things wasn't working. They biggest ????? for me was not drafting anything at NT or Dline. The draft had a lot of depth there and besides Justin Smith, i think we are average. Franklin is great but money talks and we didn't offer it to him. Maybe we have our sights set on someone in FA.

So you have to have a brick for a brain to be loved in the zone?

This was a C+ talent draft, unlike last year's A talent. So there was was not a whole lot to get excited about. There wasn't even a clear cut, can't miss pick in the 1st 10 picks. Every guy had some eyebrow raising flaw. The best from this draft will be hard pressed to ever be All Pro much less Hall of Fame clay.

ahhhhhhhhhh, the off season. Full of hope and optimism. Truth is, only time will tell. Kapernick could be the next Ken Dorsey. Hunter could be the next Glenn Coffee, Aldon Smith could be the next Kentwan Balmer for all we know. I'm keeping my panties dry at the moment but hoping for the best.

And Kap could also be the next Steve Young, Hunter could turn out to be Ricky Watters, and Aldon Smith could become Charles Haley...
