Let him go and draft JJ Watt from Wisconsin to replace him.

Watt is going to be a 3-4 DE, not a 3-4 OLB. Watt is 290 pounds.
I thought Suggs was close to that.

No, Tully Banta-Cain was when he was with the 49ers. No joke.

I hate to say this, but I feel like Matts new employer has put too many restraints on him. His answers come off far to matter-of-fact. There is no speculation or sizzle. I mean I get the whole "report just the facts" journalism angle, but for me it's too PC. It might as well be a 49er press release signed off by Jed York.

I'm sure most of you will disagree, but really its just my opinion.

I'd say he does A LOT more of that now than he ever did at the PD (which is why I read Maiocco a lot less than I used to).

I was speaking with an assistant coach the other day. I said, "Boy, I don't know how bad it was on the inside, but from the outside, it didn't look very good." His response, "You don't know the half of it. Someday I'll tell you some stories."

Ouch. @sdutChargers Manusky says SD gave him best chance to win. "I'm not just shuffling my feet. I've been doing that in SF for 4 years."

I knew it was bad but I'm still surprised at the real depth of the disfunction under Singletary/Nolan/McCloughan which is just now coming to light.
Yep. Just watched Chronicle Live, and they mentioned Manusky said something to the effect of "Good! Now I can do what I want to do." Meaning, Singletary was putting the clamps on him too, not only the offense.

Who knows how good any of these coaches are with Singletary apparently stifling all of them.

SAY NO TO GOLDSON!

Unless he's a back up.

I like his physical playing style but he's a real liability in coverage. Only re-sign him if on the cheap.

And early in the season people were blaming the players instead of the coaches!!!

if theres ever a tell all book from the singletary era, that would be a must buy

hearing all this stuff makes me despise dingletary even more now if the coaches on his staff can pick up and leave and have a job already in place with another team they wouldve left dingletary with no staff other than his 2 dummies he brought in because theyre family

All depends on his 10 and 20yd splits doesn't it? I mean if he times well enough he'd be almost impossible to matchup against as an OLB. Added bonus: at Wisconsin he dropped into coverage quite a bit. Rare for anyone that size. Says a lot about his athleticism, hips, ankle flexion, motor, and intelligence.

Maiocco can suck it. He's worse than Kevin Lynch. Hell even Sando gives more insight and Sando covers 3 other teams!

It's clear David White has emerged as the 49ers best beat writer.

Enjoy talking about St. Mary's, Maiocco. While you were out on VACAY, The Harb had a sit-down with the beat writers. Your lack of PD style questions were not missed.
