???Young catches his own pass???

Sorry if this has been discussed before, can't seem to find anything on it.... I remember a time when Steve Young caught his own pass and runs in for a TD but a few weeks ago, maybe over a month, I was watching NFL network where they were talking about Brad Johnson being the only QB to ever do it. I remember sitting in front of the TV watching the game when, and sorry if it's not exactly as it went but the announcer says, "Young back to pass, scrambles left, throws the ball...(ball get's defected)Young catches the ball (Young runs it in)... TOUCHDOWN Steve Young!!!" Was this play negated for some reason? Was it not for a Touchdown? I clearly remember seeing it happen...

i just remember brad johnson doing it. don't know if steve did it, probably cuz im too young

That's what I remember as well. Against Atlanta at the Stick and I think he ended up on the two yard line. Maybe it was a TD though. Not 100% sure.

Steve Young did catch his own pass but not for a t.d. I own an nfl films vhs tape of the 1993 49ers and steve catches a deflected pass and only gains a few yards !! I think the title of the tape is keepers of the flame or torch !!!

I think I remember him catching a batted pass, but I don't think he scored.

He only has two receptions for his career, both were in 1993, no receiving TDs.

Thanks for clarifying it... it really bothered me that Brad Johnson was the only one mentioned when I believed Steve Young did it also.

Can anyone share the footage of his 2 career receptions? I can't find any on youtube. Man, I swear I remember one going for a TD... maybe it initially looked to be a TD but he was ruled down.

It took me a while to appreciate Young... I hated how he ran alot. Eventually I came to be a big fan.

He never scored a TD on his own pass. Sorry mayne. It was close though.

I know the footage of the "pass" is in a few videos though. Most likely in the middle of some 10 min clip from that season on youtube. It's out there. Who will find it?

thanks for finding that. I feel alot better now... different angle than I remember from watching live. My memory has me watching them driving from left to right and seeing it from behind Steve Young.

you guys rock!!! I've been searching on and off for a few weeks only to find others comments about remembering the same thing I did.
