Anthony Davis - F.
Mike Iupati - A.
Taylor Mays - D -.
Navarro Bowman - C.

Didn't get much else. 1 and 3 are terrible.

Oh, I love grades set in stone after 1 year.

Mays barely played. But, he's a D- because he didn't score 4 defensive TDs. Good grade. Bowman showed speed and had a good game last game, but he's a C because he get juked by Kolb. Anthony Davis played next to by far a worse lineman than himself. But his improvement over the year doesn't institute anything better than an F. And he sure lowered his grade by stifling Clay Matthews because Matthews is a scrub.

Anthony Davis is a scrub. He got abused all year long. We traded up to get that guy and gave up picks. Just shows you how good Baalke is and that he needs oversight...

I'm not getting roped into an argument with you. You just LOOOOOVE to do it and I won't give you the gratification.

No matter what logic I will use, EVER -- it doesn't matter. You turn a blind eye to anything reasonable just to get a rise out of people.

Did Anthony Davis play good?... It was either...

~ Getting beat to the QB by the defender

That's what I saw all year.

Simple post from a simple man. You obviously only point out the negatives because you don't follow OL play closely enough.

If I trade picks to move up I want a SOLID O LINEMEN who knows how to pass block. This proves once again my argument is correct. Baalke is inexperienced and needs a guiding hand like Floyd Reese or Lombardi looking over his shoulder. I would have those guys approve the draft and FA first. Just make sure he doesn't mess up again in 2011.

What has proven that your argument is incorrect? That you can convince yourself that you're right? Hilarious.

He moved up 2 spots. 2. He gave up a mid round pick. Big deal. It's not like he traded this year's first to move up and get him. Perspective, you don't have it. Patience with a 21 year old rookie. You don't have it. Not every rookie OT that comes into the league plays like Orlando Pace immediately.

Yeah, we need a clown and a rat like Michael Lombardi to guide Baalke. Yep, that'll make us a Super Bowl team. NFL Network's Michael ratface Lombardi.
Lombardi? No thanks.

u gave a rookie tackle an F? get real dude. anthony davis got better as the year went on and he will be even better next year. mays was played too early and manusky's p***y ass zone defense was the reason our DBs all looked like s**t. we go out and get big physical corners and then drop them back into a zone to get roasted like marshmallows all game long. mays will be fine, davis will be fine. you will continue to be a troll. lombardi? f**k lombardi. if hes so good why does he have a a job and then go a few years before someone even considers him? even when he did have a job he didnt have a any kind of major roll, he was never a gm, just a glorified scout.

Carmen Policy?

Carmen Policy would be fine with me. He definitely has the connections around the league and ties to the old regime (obviously).

I'd love to find someone who knows how to stockpile 2nd round picks like the Pats and then trade up/down at will to get the exact players they're targeting. Again, a Floyd Reese type would be ideal.

It looks like the 49ers are still going to add that experienced football executive a lot of us were hoping for during the GM search:

Quote:
Here's what Comcast SportsNet has learned: Tom Gamble, director of pro personnel, will become the team's director of player personnel. Gamble has been in the NFL for 23 seasons, the past six with the 49ers. He has worked for nine playoff teams -- five with the Indianapolis Colts and four with the Philadelphia Eagles. After the promotion of Gamble, the 49ers plan to hire an experienced NFL executive to serve in a senior football advisor role.

Maybe they'll bring in one of the more experienced guys they interviewed, like Ted Sundquist. Doubt they can get Floyd Reese, since he already has that title with the Pats.

Right now I feel like the team is doing all the right things. I'm very optimistic.

Kinda my thoughts last week when Baalke was promoted.. LOMBARDI, LOMBARDI, LOMBARDI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well this is good news . . . Jed's having a good month.

amen brother, screw Lombardi, i want no part of former raider trash.

And the Baalke draft was good IMO, we got value, Dixon was good, Byham looked good, Davis wasnt the best but will improve.

Iupati was the best, Bowman was good, Mays was subpar, but is raw as a cover safety, so he will only get better.

Hoping they look at a Floyd Reese or re-consider Lombardi for this position.

lombardi already turned down a lesser role than gm tho

This would be as an adviser. He wouldn't be working under anybody as he would have been before.

As for how he conducted himself. I think he was only being honest, that's his job. I don't have a problem with him saying what could have been and I don't recall him openly criticizing the 49ers but if I'm wrong please show me where he did and I'll change my tune.

LaCanfora was doing all of the criticizing for Lombardi. Honestly, don't you think the fact that they both work for NFL Network makes this article a little unprofessional?

This type of thing was being said on NFL Network all week by LaCanfora. Combine that with the fact that right after his interview Lombardi immediately went on NFL Network and said that he was never a candidate and that Baalke would be hired in 48 hours.

I do not want Lombardi anywhere near this team. Not only does he not have any actual General Manger experience, but he is a bitter weasel turd who is still b***hing in the media about his days as a "Yes Man" for Al Davis.

The San Francisco 49ers' odds of landing Jim Harbaugh as their head coach looked bleak Thursday unless they up their financial offer to him, and that could force the team to focus elsewhere.

The Miami Dolphins are making a heavy push for Harbaugh, who still could opt to stay at Stanford.

As NFL.com and NFL Network previously reported, the 49ers' front-office structure could be a considerable hindrance to the team landing Harbaugh, who clearly is the top candidate.

....

Had the 49ers changed their structure and been willing to hire an outside GM, then meet the financial threshold that Harbaugh is commanding on the market, they could have built a dream staff, according to sources.

NFL Network insider Michael Lombardi interviewed for the GM position Tuesday in San Francisco. Lombardi has strong ties to Harbaugh, but also McDaniels, with the possibility of having McDaniels as offensive coordinator and another former head coach as defensive coordinator.

That article made me sick. I'll never be able to trust NFLN again. Talk about a lack of journalistic integrity.

integrity?

it's what sports journalism is all about.

He is a rookie who is extremely raw and he shows that. He wasn't expected to be great right off the bat. Was it a reach, yeah, but he could still be a great Tackle in this league. Your argument is completely incorrect because you are grading them off their rookie year.

Agree! If he is still playing this way at the end of his second year then we can revisit this issue, but he played well enough for a rookie. He should have been on the bench for the first five weeks of the season and those results might have been different...but we might not have gotten Harbaugh...aw, never mind!
I think that they are looking for someone with the NFL contacts to help orchestrate draft day deals.
