To the OG poster, the people that are gonna disagree with you are same ones that think Alex Smith is a great QB.
If he brings us Harbaugh will we like him then?

I think that would be the only we as fans would give him a fair shot, otherwise it will be seen as an epic fail.
I realize Baalke is not the sexy hire, and that by hiring him Jed is essentially going all the way back on his word about hiring the best possible candidate, a "football guy" with experience, or even a big name GM. But I have a feeling that if Baalke gets the job it will be for one of two reasons:

1. The Yorks haven't changed one tiny little bit, and they are, once again, going for the cheap, easy, in-house fix to a problem they don't know how to solve.

Or...

2. Trent can get Harbaugh. Period. Harbaugh is the sexiest coach out there at the moment, the hottest prospect on the market, the most coveted piece of stock out there right now, and the Yorks are in love with the idea of catching a "genius" on the rise and getting credit for saving the team. I know, a little romantic, but I get the sense Jed has a flare for the dramatics, and will roll the dice on a young and inexperienced GM/Head Coach combo in hopes that it pays off, restores the team, and earns him even half the respect his uncle has.

These are the only two possibilities I can swallow.

I'm not saying I think Trent is going to be a bad hire either way. I just want them to at least talk to some of the people that I mentioned first.
Me too. I'd feel a LOT better if the process also took another few days at least. Two days isn't a search, it's a rigged election.
I Dont Mind Trent He Seems To Have A Good Scouting Eye......As Long As He Can Get A Good Coach Like Harbaugh
