It is all good. Sing just signed his walking papers. Irrespective of a win or loss this week, how in the hell do you say we are going with Alex because he knows the playbook best two weeks ago to now starting Troy again. I would think you go with the guy your OC thinks is the best especially if you know absolutely nothing about offense other then you want your QB to yell and b***h out everyone to get them fired up

Alex is 2 and 7... Troy 3 and 2... Troy gives us a better chance to win period!
They're both horrible it's just Alex seems the lesser of two evils.

If this is true, I just hope Troy doesn't get hurt.
Guy got sacked 5 timed last time he played them and that was before teams were scheming to keep him in the pocket.
It'll be interesting either way. I like the kid and hope he does well. Maybe he's shown something in practice that we don't know about.
Honestly, I think it's probably because Singletary prefers his leadership style. He wants a fiery guy out there to "lead the troops" or whatever. Not that I have a problem with the choice itself, but I think the reasoning ability that Singletary has shown proves that he needs to be gone as soon as possible.
If it turns out to be true, I also wonder what offensive philosophy we go with. Will we pass the ball less? We passed the ball less often when Troy was starting, so I can't see any reason why that would change. It's amazing how one dimensional this could make us. Keeping Troy in the pocket limits him, but even when he wasn't limited he almost always threw the ball to the right side... twice as often as any other spot on the field... and he almost never threw the ball over the middle.
So, if we're gonna play "Single-Ball" all they should have to do is cover the right side of the field and clog the middle against the run.
I hope I'm wrong because I think Troy has potential... if he blows this game I think it diminishes his chances of being back next year.

Also Troy had his best game against that Rams secondary despite a bad game from the OLine and a bunch of penalties.

It has been a long time since I last sat up in my chair and took notice of something. But when Snake P used the word "misanthropic" in his post, I took notice.
From now on I will start paying more attention to what SnakeP has to say.

Maybe, Singletary is trying to seperate himself from Alex so Jed doesn't fire him. Because, he would look like he was too stubborn with sticking with Alex the whole season.

Respectfully disagree.
If you look at Troy's last three games you wouldn't even remotely argue that's he's the reason for "wins."
QB Rating: 51, 62, 64
Yards: 148, 129, 194
Completion %: 16/31, 11/23, 10/25
TDs: 1, 1, 1
ints: 0, 1, 1
He had two good games because nobody had any tape on him. Since then, he's been worse than any other QB in the league. In his last three games he's been worse than Alex ever has been (since his rookie season, which was almost this bad). The biggest knocks on Alex are his indecisiveness and his short accuracy problems. Troy Smith is much worse in both of these regards.
Agreed with obx49.

I don't know what post you're talking about, but you should have been paying attention to him earlier.

Now I have to go find the post to see why his use of that word was so interesting.

Quote:
Giving Troy Smith the start over Alex Smith would seem fitting for the 49ers given how their season has gone. They went into the season eager to see how Alex Smith would fare with the same offensive coordinator from the previous season. They then fired that coordinator after the third game.
An injury knocked out Alex Smith in Week 7. The 49ers' went back to Alex Smith for the team's two most recent games because they thought his knowledge of the offense gave him an edge, particularly as Troy Smith's production fell off. Now, with the 49ers' playoff hopes on the line, they're going back to a player who wasn't even on the roster for training camp.
It just might work. Alex Smith generally hasn't inspired confidence. He hasn't won enough games. But there were issues with Troy Smith's play even before he went from 2-0 to 3-2 as the 49ers' starter.
Troy Smith was making big plays largely because opponents were focusing on running back Frank Gore. Troy Smith would make huge plays on early downs, when the focus was on Gore, and he would struggle on third down, when the pressure was on the quarterback. He would also struggle in the red zone, where a stronger rapport with tight end Vernon Davis would have helped. Alex Smith was more likely to find Davis and far more effective in the red zone.
When Troy Smith was most effective, the 49ers' opponents had to figure a backup quarterback with little experience in the 49ers' system would have a hard time winning games on his own. That was the case against the Rams even though Smith made big plays. The 49ers barely won the game. It could be the case with Alex Smith even though he knows the offense better.
The big-play production Troy Smith provided was not sustainable and there were obvious signs, even early, that the offense remained in poor overall health, including zero third-down conversions in 11 chances during that game against St. Louis.

hes putting troy in cus of his success against the rams last game, now we're gonna run the exact same plays as that game that worked for us and the rams will be ready this time
