I can't believe our O-line is still as bad as it is. All these top picks, all this money... it is a shame.
I think it is time to fire the line coach.

Not that I disagree, but most if not all of the players existed before the current OL coach, and they sucked then too. We need to pick new linemen.

I think Baas was a 2.1 pick? Anyway, we have been drafting a lot of early round linemen for many years now. A lot of whiffs

Baas was early 2nd but he' s gone. I agree we have a lot of early picks on the line and right now it isnt working. Hopefully they just need some coaching. Maybe an old and ornnery guard picked up through FA to pull them round?

I agree.... We just don't have the players on the offensive side of the ball..
Gore: Love him, but injury prone and puts the ball on the ground at the worst time
Crabtree: Coming a long nicely
Edwards: Waste of time right now
Williams: Love this kids ability
Iupati: Love this kid, he'll get it, with the lockout, he's basically a rookie again to a certain degree
Davis: Same as Iupati with the lockout, just not sure this guy has the head and whereabouts to play on the edge
Snyder: Servicalble back-up really
Goodwin: Descent, not great. Not a great push in the passing game
Staley: Very unimpressive if you ask me
V. Davis: Physical freak that can't catch, not a good route runner, not very good at reading the defense to find the weakest in the zones, doesn't have good lateral speed linebackers and safeties can stay with him on out, in's and comeback routes. Straight line speed is his only weapon right now. He's very powerful, but really doesn't use that to his advantage...
A.Smith: Good athlete, smart kid, good arm, but decision making is questionable.. Accuracy is not consistent, footwork can look great one minute, bad the next, so no consistency there. Just does not ooze with confidence, doesn't have that "over my dead body," Steve Young talked about....
For me, Harbaugh just doesn't have a lot to work with right now...

Yea, and I'd like to start picking them near the end of the draft like so many teams do who have good O-lines.

Rachal is second, Goodwin is... I don't know.
Point is, as a unit, they should be better than what they are.

Goodwin is 5th. Rachal is probably who people think of as the other high pick...high second (39th).
But, never judge players by their draft position...rarely works out. Brady, Montana vs Manning and Rodgers are both ends to the spectrum.
