i reallly thought this season A.Smith would take us deep into postseason action, after reading he had different "attitude" & "poise".. he let us down..

even after reading this article.. i still have a glimmer of Hope..

hopefuully.. we still Do get in the playoffs..

go niners!
Ratto hits the nail quarely!

Whomever we hire as a replacement must be afforded the same responsibilities and powers that Pete Carroll was given. Despite this, I don't see a Gruden, or Cowher, or Holmgren being seriously interested in this job, and I don't see Turner being fired. Team, staff, stadium, ownership, fan support are all very serious issues. A lot of heavy lifting that will take a lot of time & effort. I think Dallas will flourish under Garrett. Alot like Sean Peyton imo.

I would look at a select list of proven, highly regarded college coaches, as well. Guys who already know how to be a CEO/HC, and have built a successful team biz. OU's Stoops, Oregon State's Riley (Pete Carroll's nemesis), "the" OSU's Tressel, Georgia's Richt or maybe SC's Spurrier?

Then, there is a long list of NFL coordinators with or w/o HC experience. Am I dreaming to think that a group of former 49er players (under Walsh) might have an interest in "putting the band back together"? I mean, they lived what we are all looking to replicate.

WOW! Just talked myself out of the HR job! Gonna be a tough transition.

I didn't read it. I'm pretty sure it doesn't say anything I don't already know.

He has the most awesome name, though. Especially considering the attitude he writes with.

Is funny.

More funny = less sad

less sad =

f**k it....

Hire a proven HC, and a GM and let THEM decide whom they will keeo and whom they will let go.

Actually when I look back, all teh coaching changes have brouught nothing, exeept when Johnson and raye have been alloweed to call a open game.

Johnson IMHO is worth keeping, Solari had previously done a nice job with Seattleßs line, itßs obvious that the conservative/predictive style of play that Sing preaches is hampering the offence.
yep, time to completely rebuild and start this s**t over, for a third time...

Clean house with this coaching staff and fill the voids at VP of football operations/GM.

The first option will get done. But the Yorks will likely make the same mistake ignoring to strengthen our weak front office.
i honestly dont know if even eddie can right this mess. maybe an all out change like ellison, i dunno. but if we have no choice but to keep running with the current regime, then i'd be leary of letting someone else come in again and have complete autonomy of system, staff, and roster. john york failed with nolan and jed with sing. to be fair sing only served as coach but obviously he was the bad choice anyway. holmgren, gruden, maybe cowher are the exceptions. a harbaugh/luck combo would look be sexy as f*ck right about now.

ratto made a good point today. he stated that Jed desperately wants to be viewed as his uncle: savior of this franchise. but he went on to say that Eddie wasn't the greatest if owners and that he was basically talked into hiring walsh. his point is this: Jed wants to be the next great owner, but it won't happen unless he hires proper football higher-ups who know will know what this team needs. this means a team prez and a GM who will hire a coach. if you leave it in the hands of the Yorks-or any owner for that matter-you'll most likely see the same results. Leadership does NOT start with the QB or the coach. it starts at the very top. we are all making our head coaching wish-list but not a prez/GM list. in the end, we could get all the grudens and harbaughs we so desparately desire. it will not mean s**t if we have no one at the top to help build this thing. put it this way: you could hire all the caprenters and electricians and plumbers you want to build your dream house, but if there is no architect, your vision is left with the worker bees to run around do only what they do best. we need leadership at the highest levels.
Ratto should have read my "Rest of the Season is Pointless Thread" and saved himself the emotional disaster of yesterday. This season was done long before yesterday.
Clearly, the Yorks aren't good at running an NFL franchise. They are good, evidently, at whatever they did to get rich.

So, great, you can sell the team for a big profit and move on. Why bring all this hatred and disrepute down on yourself and your family.

Look at what happened with Warriors owner Cohan. He could have avoided a decade of abuse if he had simply realized what his talents are and moved on long ago.

It takes introspection and guts to do that, so we will see...
WE NEED TO MAKE RATTO THE GM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Yorks didn't do anything to get rich. Denise inherited her wealth from her father, and she bought the 49ers from her brother Eddie when he was required to sell it by the NFL.

thats exactly correct. the "faithful" had been "hopeful" that alex would pan out. then replacing the palycaller will get it going. and now singletary is holding everyone back. but the truth is exactly what you said - it's starts at the top. unlike his father, i cant think of anyone who would be a bigger niner fan than jed given his entire upbringing. but unless he and his parents make the proper business decision in and putting a majority of resources into finding the right individual to serve as president, he will lose the mob along with his efforts for the stadium while he's at the helm. the results will be them looking for a new fanbase in la and me jumping off the ggb.
