I'm starting to believe there just trying to figure out a way to f**k the players and make more money. Let's be honest at least 1 player or 2 from a team a week is getting fined some as low at 10k haha right.. I don't make that saving pennies for a decade. I think this is the nfl to stick it to the new cb because sure they'll have to cave but there going to make sure they get that money back with the fines.

He made a clean, head up tackle where his facemask was against his chest. You couldn't make a cleaner hit on a QB.
I mean, the fine is the smallest possible, but this is the kind of aggressive hit that should be used as an example of how you can get a good hit the right way.
What I would like to see is one full speed EXAMPLE of how on earth you tackle a quarterback in the NFL.
I dare anyone to find a SINGLE video, where a quarterback is tackled at full speed, where the player is not making forceful contact with his helmet.
You just kick him in the dick. Thats the new way just a swift kick to the nuts. so far this isn't against the rules just kind of a low blow that they could say is against the rules.
Really you can't it's physically not possible, even if you lead with your shoulder your head fallows. did goodell take anatomy classes in college?
So say alex makes that block on greg who played for the raiders when we ran the reverse play does alex get fined he lead with his shoulder and hit a defenseless guy who never shall it coming. This all started because of sapp hitting the bills player like that, and brady being a prissy star who got the tuck rule and going low on qb written about him.
I understand going low and blowing brady or mannings knees. I get the going high and hitting helmet to helmet can cause brain damage to both players, but if you can lead with you head stick your shoulder into a guys chest and pop up as your shoulder hits your helemt is going to go up under the guys chin strap, but lets face it lawson didn't spear him or do anything didn't even grab his face. he just drop a defenseless qb who decided to become one the second he threw that pass i get it 3 down but he only did it to himself lawson can't control what a qb is going to do.
And droping to 2/3 speed to make the tackle is bs. if the player gets there i can see him moving not to hit a qb but to slow down make a proper tackle and then watch the qb get the ball out of his hands now because of that.

I think watching a game where tackles could only be performed with chest bumps would be really fun...not a meaningful game of course

Players should accept they are going to get fined and make sure they have a bump in their salary to cover it going forward. These fines are ridiculous.
Between the smuggness of the "can do no wrong" bad officiating and the "hollier than thou" league office, this game is turning into pansy ball.

Damn, that's just basic tackling. They taught us to put our facemask in the other players chest when tackling in high school.

It's easier to fine them than it is to start testing for HGH.

The No Fun League is just flat out turning into the No Football League. What a joke both of these fines are.

Guys,
How has every single one of you missed the point that Goodell is simply trying to protect the players from injury? We should be applauding him. Obviously, unlike Madden, there is no "injury off" option in real life. Therefore, Goodell has come up with a method for simulating the injury off button in live futbol...sorry, I meant football.
Goodell For War General!!! No shooting below the knees or above the neck...or in the chest.
This is football bro. They get paid mega millions for hitting each other. I understand you have to protect the players, but, hitting is a party of the game. If you can't stop an average OLB fom doing a stunt and getting a free shot, then Orton shouldn't have stood tall and try to throw a pass. He got hit clean and the No Fun LEague is telling manny, "good play, but we're gonna fine the s**t out of u because we need the money during the lock out season to make payroll."
A lot of silly fines have been handed out to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars per week. They used the Djax hit, which was high profile because of Djax, to further their agenda. Like that was the only major hit we've seen in NFL history.
Besides the injuries, Goodall has essentially eliminated celebrations. You can't have team celebrations anymore, use props, use the football (besides spinking), excess celebrations, tweet during games, attempting to ban Ocho Cinco from changing his name. The legal system stepped in the way of their tyrannical asses for that one.
It might be time to bring in the legal system again. Handing out arbitrary fines for clean hits that don't even render a flag? Changing the rules mid season without true discussions with the players association and the owners? They are out of control and should be sued pretty soon here.
I tried to make it clear that I was being VERY sarcastic. Oh well, I'll try harder next time.
I got your sarcasm. Very good my friend

I don't know what to think about that, it might not be too far off to think that you can't hit the quarterback at all. Goodall needs to get fired at this point for letting this become the flag football league it's like saying all those great hits from decades past were wrong and they're not wrong, they're good hits and that my friend is why I watch football.

Not to s**t my own bed, but a lot of the safety rules are good ones.
Concussions are no joke and taking measures to prevent them is a good thing. I know from personal experience how bad they can be. I don't think most people really do. Especially considering long term damage.
That said, this fine is f**king bulls**t and Goodell can go sit on a beaver spike.

i may just stop watching NFL and go watch the new UFL league.

Maybe we should start a movement and send the commish a UFL football ticket. Average price is what like 15 bucks? Be pretty funny if he got like 1,000 cheap tickets sent to him with some sort of comment about if he wants to turn the NFL into flag football we'll go watch these games.

Baseball has been recovering from there mistake for the past decade. Does the nfl the big daddy of American sports really want to go down the same road, because only reason the nfl is America's number 1 sport is because baseball let the wheels fall off. Just like what goodell is going to do to the nfl with all his safety rules. This might make me start watching hockey again this way i get to see him guys f**k each other up.
