Erickson era by far. Least we have good players this time around.

What difference does it make, you are what your record says you are.

we had a 2-14 record one year under erickson, i think we'll get more than 2 wins this year

Yeah, but with 5 times the talent. In 2004 we were way worse than the Bills are now. Our best players were Derek Smith and Jeff Ulbrich.
Erikson was atrocious

Nolan era by far, he had all this talent, cap room and still could not hit the .500 mark. Erickson did not have such control nor did he have talent on his team, so my expectations weren't that high.
What is the constant? THE YORKS.

While they are owners, the cycle will continue. There is no hope for the future while they are calling the shots.

Wtf
With the Erickson era we had the worst teams but we had 1/5 the talent. It's almost worst now because we have so much more talent but are playing like those teams.

To me the Erickson era was the worse because it was first real time that the 49ers as we knew them had ended. We were truly like an expansion franchise.

My reasoning as well. It was like throwing whiteout on all of our previous expectations and history.

This for me as well. Plus, I hated Erickson before we hired him.

Was not a happy fan.

At least now we have a foundation of players that a new coach can use. There's some hope in that. Erickson era was zero hope.

I tend to think it's also just a bit of the natural result of the departure of Walsh and the slow departure of everyone with ties to him.

The Yorks may have sped up the process, but I think it was likely inevitable.

There was the total overhaul of the team and the Yorks could have handled that better, but they were in a pretty tight corner with the cap trouble and Donahue's f**king amazing flea circus.

The biggest mistake is ultimately the staff they hired. Owners f**k that up all the time. It's not exactly easy to find the next Bill Walsh.

Hopefully they learn from this and bring in a veteran football front office person to make the decisions. Then stay the f**k out of the building.
