Why is this guy still on the roster?
Good question!
Isn't he the only QB that has played in a regular season game under contract for the 2011 season?

I agree with everyone that he sucks.
But if you read what I wrote you will understand why we could be forced to start him.
If the CBA conflict drags out through the summer and then gets resolved right before the start of the season our only QBs would be Carr and rookies that have never had an NFL practice. We would have to start Carr in that situation.
Hopefully that's not what will happen, but if you follow the CBA news it sounds like it's a VERY likely scenario.
It would be highly risky to enter into this off-season with NO QB on the roster at all.

I thought he was the only QB under contract, period. Unless there's someone on the PS I'm not aware of?

The new CBA would not have prevented us from extending Troy would it?
) He is the only QB signed through next season! Yikes somebody better do something! Kolb anyone, or maybe some scrub FA while we look for/ groom the Qb of our future?Originally posted by Pancho559:
No we should have kept Shaun Hill along with Alex Smith and have what ever QB as our number 3 and we would have at least maybe won the Carolina game!!!

Seriously you are complaining about the back up QB?

I think he is complaining about the fact that we paid a guy 2 or 3 million on a guy is really a screw up compared to Alex still has time to prove people wrong, and that we could have used it to sign someone else or just saved the money altogether.
