A new perspective

Many people are saying that the niners are not that good because of our record this year or our performance.....Well, here is some insight on to why our record is what it is
it's funny we outplayed NO ATL and PHI and lost by 3, 2, and 3 with Turnovers up the @ss. It shows how good we are WITH dumb turnovers.....a lot of other teams if they committed 5, 3, and 5 turnovers against those GREAT teams would of been blown out. Great teams don't commit stupid errors BUT when you have all the talent we have and have bad luck of bounces....you are still a good team with a bad record. This is what the niners are. We all Know we outplayed the saints, atl PHI Oak even Philly (3 possessions INSIDE their 5 yard line......outgained them in yards, just so unfortunate tip int's and miscommunication on a pass). So Although we are 1-5, we are a good team with an average qb, below average line and every part of our team is very good if not great.

great rb's good wr's great lb's very good secondary, good DL, we are a team if we stop GIVING away turnovers (especially unforced errors, we will win so many games as we would of with Atl, NO and PHI especially. We crushed the Oak outgaining them 2 to 1 WITH bad calls and 150 yards in penalties...that my friends is a very good team to still win with all of that going against us.

Just a thought and before people say how the niners are bad, consider how you are making that statement or judgment before you first speak.
i dont think your stating anything thats a surprise to anyone but i like this post. singletary said we are the best team we've faced all year. i dont think theres a better way to say that. we should be 4-2 right now. the problem is we play up to good teams and get manhandled by s**tty teams. the raiders game shouldnt have been close. the chiefs game was a fast team vs a slow team and thats one of our biggest problems and seattle was a horribly prepared team vs a team that came to play. the 49ers are the biggest enigma in the whole league. nobody knows what team will show up. we have more talent than more than 2/3 of the league but are horribly inconsistent and thats what drives us all crazy
A lot of people don't realize that our MAIN problem isn't just the turnovers but the fact that we can't finish games. (a lot of the time they go hand in hand)

We never capitalize on situations where we could take bigger leads.
preparation is a big issue too. Players running wrong routes, tons of penalties, lack of ball security, and just crappy gameplans overall. When you have a predictable gameplan, the opposition can take chances and go for turnovers. We have a lot of issues on this team, and it starts up top.

agrred, there always seems to be a play, in which, the route was wrong. penalties like unsportsmanlike conduct, off sides by receivers, etc

definitely poor preparation and coaching
Dingleberry is still the coach and last time i checked he sucks
It doesn't matter if we're a good 1-5 or a bad 1-5.

We're 1-5

Dallas fans aren't saying well geez we're 1-4 but every game has came down to wire. Be optimistic guys. One more turnover plagued game at the wrong time and it might be all she wrote.

I agree with this post! We can speculate on things we REALLY don't know ie. game plan, wrong routes, play calling etc but at the end of the day TURNOVERS have killed this team and has led us to our current record. We saw on Sunday, we we don't turn over the ball we win EVEN with "wrong routes","play calling" or "game plan".

Our quarterback has the majority of turnovers. There's your answer to a 1-5 record.

When you have turnover that means you didn't outplay the other team.
There's no silver lining to this "new perspective." In fact, iit should make you incredibly pissed off at this team.

Why are fans up in arms this year?
Because we were/are supposed to be a good or good enough team. We shouldn't have this 1-5 record.

If we were supposed to suck, like the rebuilding years of 2004-2008, then fans would patiently go through the season with a bemused look at our "lovable losers."

On paper, this team has been rebuilt with enough high round draft picks and FAs at most, if not all, the key positions.

This team isn't supposed to be this bad. It hasn't been snakebitten by an incredible amount of blatantly blown calls by the officials, it hasn't been beat by " WTF -Brett Favre" plays, and it has not been beset yet by multiple, crippling injuries.

None of the above has happened and we're 1-5? That's why it hurts.

We never capitalize on situations where we could take bigger leads.

and we don't finish because we play a style of offense that likes to take the foot off the gas once we get a 3 point lead, instead of trying to go for the nail in teh coffin.

Then we leave the defense to clean up the mess, and we have an average defense.
Unfortunately, it is the same stuff from a season ago. We didn't make the playoffs last year because of it and it seems our fate will be the same in 2010.
