Same disease, different bacteria. Both were Peter principled in and one is gone, next needs to go quick. The loss of faith in our HC is obvious by looking at the sideline, it is obvious in that he is not into "Xs and Os", and it is obvious in his gross lack of learning coaching skills in WRs, RBs, QBs, TEs, OLs , DLS, DBs. Amazingly, he has not ever sniffed DC nor OC. He went from LB coach to HC. How smart is that? Well, how about a 20 some yr old kid born with a silver spoon in his mouth choosing a GM and HC...actually several of them. Losing the locker room is a dangerous road to travel. I believe that happened a while back, but the stinkers or BMs(bigmikes), in SEA and last week, plus the loss to NO? WOW! They were spectacularly bad.

I say don't wait to midseason, shed him now. This would give us 12 more games if BM were to get schidt canned immediately after ATL. No one is going to convince me that manusky and MJ are going to do a worse job than BM is doing. they could actually do better, much better. With BM you know what you get... a green steamer laid on the green turf every Sunday morning...a BM. At least with the other 2 guys, no HC, each would be able to show us what he has and if they are worth keeping around.

In the meantime, we could ask Tony Dungy or Gruden to be caretaker for rest of season and see if gruden is a match for us. One thing for sure: BM isn't. I say, take the cure now, while we would still have 12 games left that he couldn't screw up. Keep him to midseason, lose more of the locker room,and then watch a new stadium NOT GET BUILT. BM has made his point. He is not HC material, and has yrs or learning to do so. To expect more of the guy without putting in the requisite time, every day he is here just hurts our team more. If we could not get a caretaker HC for rest of yr, so what? Let Baalke start right now looking for that hot shot OC who is ready for the HC slot. But please, don't continue with BM. He had his undeserved shot and we got what he had, which was grossly inferior HC material. HOF aside, he is a good guy, a good family man, a good christian....but HC...Unh unh...no way. Worse, he is now destroying the team.

there both horrible but at least we would have Martz as our OC and Smith would be gone

Honestly I would say NoWin was better. He had 1/2 as much talent and did twice as much with it. And I didn't see his players quitting left and right. Sing may go 0 - 16 with the talent we have not to mention how many of his guys want to quit.

1. backgrounds are in defense in a scoring league
2. had their first NFL head coaching job
3. had complete control of their staff
4. had a significant role in who was drafted

I really blame the owners for this.
It would help to hire a head coach with experience (no matter what the price)
Hire a GM that has a track record of success (no matter what the price)
and/or Hire a President of Football Operations (no matter what the price)

stop being cheap and having people in Santa Clara wear multiple hats. If you want to win the copy success (have one head from the top have hiring/firing power of GM and all coaches)

They have excellent value going without a GM. We are the envy of the league...
