And I hate to break it to you, folks.. But Alex's passing average on the day was better than all of the following "good" QB's last week:

Brees
Matt Ryan
Palmer
Flacco
Brady
Sanchez
Garrard
Eli Manning
Hasselbeck
Romo
Favre
Shaun Hill (yes, even the beloved Shaun Hill).

And he was right on par with Rodgers and Cutler as well. Guys.. he didn't get his high completion percentage by dinking it around.. He actually PLAYED a GOOD GAME. For fricks sake, give credit where credit is due.

Too many times are people trying to do anything to take away credit to feed and support their own biased viewpoints.

He did have a good game and was accurate, but there was one name on your list that he didn't beat out:
Smith - 23/32 = 71.88%
Brees - 28/38 = 73.68%

The QBs that were more accurate than him on Monday were:
Schaub
McNabb
Brees
Rivers
Cutler
P. Manning

It puts him in 7th for the week, but that is some elite company. There are still some things to clean up to improve his other rankings.

-Total Yards: Alex is 9th overall
-Total TDs: Alex is 18th
-Total INTs: Alex is 9th (or 23 from the bottom is how I see it)
-QB Rating: Alex ranked 16th

Lets see how he stands next week against a weaker defense.
Pass Yds/Gm (25th)
Total Yds/Gm (24th)

I expect a better performance.

dude where are you getting your stats??

Alex is NOT 16th in QB rating he's 23rd...

NOT 9th in INT's only 1 QB in football has MORE (Flacco)... that puts him tied for second to last...

he's not 9th in yards like you say...

he's not 18th in TDs like you say...

are you just looking at Week 2 and if so WHY? looking at the whole season paints a more complete picture

Dude, because what's in discussion is the bolded dude. Nothing else. We all know he's blown huge donkey dick the rest of his career.

I agree that he's not great and didn't even have a great game. He had a good game, but nothing else. Go back and look at all of my previous rants in other threads on the topic dude.

I'm not talking about his career just this season. You're stats are just pulled out of thin air. They are not correct.

This is not 'Nam there are rules. If you are going to post stats they should be correct. Am I wrong here??

Did you just pull out a war reference to describe lack of rules??? Wow.... but anyways. Save your time and mine and stop replying to a pointless argument.

The stats that I posted are correct. Here is the link so you can get your panties out of a ruffle:

According to Jason La Confora.
Alex will be fine

That's the problem, he'll never be better than "fine". We need someone who is "good" or "great".

I'm not understanding the scoring system.
Arizona gets head 4 times
SF gets head 1 times? Give me a break.

horses**t!
last year, smith and the niners would have been at the top of the list. now smith and the niners are at the bottom. not nice to see, but it's improvement. hopefully in a few weeks, we will be off it completely-although, that's highly doubtful.

you gotta laugh at the vikes and favre. it was an all out "brett favre dick suck fest" at the beginning of the year. now? not so much.

I think the article is saying we have the least troublesome QB situation out of all the teams listed at this point.

The Ravens and Joe Flacco got two Ryan Leaf. Wow.

This article suggests something that I have felt for years; with the size of the contracts now paid to rookies, owners push coaches to get QBs on the field and "earning their money" much sooner than they are capable of playing in the NFL.

In days past, a talented young QB would sit and watch for a couple of seasons to absorb it all. Aaron Rodgers is a current example of a guy who has been brought along the proper way. Steve Young is an example of the wrong way. When he first went to Tampa Bay, he, by his own admission, had no idea what he was doing. It was not until he came to SF and watched Joe Montana play and learned from Bill Walsh that he was finally able to reach HOF level. Prior to that, Steve Young was considered just another high-priced, first round bust.

It may turn out that Alex Smith is another example of the Steve Young Method. Put him in a good system with adequate tools and time to learn proper mechanics, he will do very well.
I still want Ryan Mallet real bad in the offseason - Jake Locker will be a bust...mark it

Well said.

I hope you are correct but he still has not played behind a great QB to watch and learn.

either that or the niners get less head than most teams.
