i don't see anything wrong with feeling a little positive after this loss. we played a hell of a game--this was a GREAT GAME. These are the kinds of games that make football the greatest sport in the world, and what makes us fans. We didn't win--that sucks, and it hurts, its a tough, tough loss that will have implications over the rest of our season--one way or the other--but what is wrong with feeling better about this loss than about the Seattle loss?
We were vastly improved over last week. We corrected many of the errors from last week. We got incredible performances from our defense, from our quarterback, from our o-line, and from our runningback. We lost the game, we were not beat. That hurts, no doubt. But I think its fair to say that this team and its fans can hold their heads high after this performance, as opposed to the gutless, disorganized shambles of last week.
And there's nothing wrong with that.

are you an idiot? moral victories don't count in the W column, but you are insane if you don't think this was a better game for our team than the 31-6 stomping last week.
we played a tough team and had our chances to win the game late but we just didn't. that's not to say we won't beat the chiefs or rams or whoever else we play. we played good on both sides of the ball but just had some bounces go against us. that's football.

We have the talent to win if we stop making just enough mistakes to lose.

Everyone's just happy that Alex played well.
Mistakes are kind of hard to control on a weekly basis, but if you have a good QB that gives you a chance to win against anyone.

I am indeed slurping the moral victory kool aid. To me this game showed signs of what we can be as a team. We showed the following:
1. We were not intimated by New Orleans.
2. We outgained them.
3. Had three possessions in te red zone that we did not capitalize on.
4. We kept our poise.
5. we played the full game and did not give up at the half.
6. We moved the ball well.
7. The Oline did not give up a sack and opened up running lanes for the RBs.
8. A. Smith out gained D. Brees.
9. Backfield did not let the game get away into a blowout.
10. We were in the game until the last seconds of the game.
11. We smoothed out the communication between Smith and Raye
12. Raye called a good game.
13. We did not play well enough to win but we established our offensive balance and both the run and pass were working.
I predict a break out game soon, 35-40 points.

I'm slurping it also, but comes down to how we respond next week.

But seriously though, keep hanging on to hoping these moral victories will one day change.
I will hold on, thanks. You can do whatever you want.

I'm sick and tired of the negativity I see here. The ass clowns sitting behind me at the game were whining and moaning throughout the entire night. Predictably, they left with 5 minutes left in the game when the Niners made their miraculous goal line stand against the Saints starting from a 1st and goal from the 4 yard line. You're no different than them.
You call yourself a fan?

And you're not? So why are you here? The whole idea about being a fan is enjoying every moment you can and hoping for something better next week. If you can't do that with this team then just give up and go away.
Yeah, it's a loss. But god damn it was exciting.

It hurts, but it's still the truth. Right now, our team looks like a bunch of scrappy amateurs trying to make a name for themselves every game. Not the NFC powerhouse we all expected.

they lost but they proved they are good enough to win. they played the nfl's best team and they lost it themselves, the saints did not beat them. that high snap and delanies fumble deep in the redzone hurt the most. the gore INT was too high but the other passes that were tipped were great defensive plays, one just took a bad bounce for us. Alex showed that he is the guy and playcalling was the problem this whole time. today he had the plays in early and had time to read defenses and call protections and all that. this game is a turning point. we lost but this game will start a fire in the players because they know they can play with the best teams and win. keep the faith guys, this time is on the rebound. i agree with spikes when he said they get that first win its gonna snowball into a bunch of wins. this team is good, theyre just young and will make mistakes but they will continue to grow and get better and be hitting on all cylinders by the time the playoffs start. if this team gets on a heater no one can stop them.

Good teams compete with good teams. The fact that we turned over the ball four times and still were able to compete with the champs showed that we have talent and we are moving in the right direction. I am not happy that we lost, I am happy that we competed when everyone even niner fans wrote us off. I am happy that for once both sides of the ball played great and with so much heart. I am happy that Alex Smith took control of the offense and the O-line jelled. I am happy that Raye called a decent game. We lost. Were 0-2, only 0-2. I don't care about statistics we will make the playoffs.
so pass me some kool-aid, we are a good team.
