Oh definitely, but I'm coming from the standpoint of Shaun HIll. Since we felt that Seattle had a ton of our players, then I feel that since we had Shaun HIll for soo many years, we should know his tendencies like the back of our hand. What he can and cant do.

So if we capitalize on that, thats why i said in no way shape or form should we lose that game.

I believe I said 9-7, but I cannot recall. That is still definitely possible, even if we start off 2-3 or 1-4. I figured we would pick up most of our wins within the division, and a few outside of the division. We will probably suprise 1 team, hopefully the saints....

After week ONE what were you saying about the Chargers, Bengals, Jets and Colts?? ALL of those teams had horrible losses and they all bounced back after their FIRST loss. We beat the Saints tonight and then what we're headed to the Super bowl??? Back away from the Xanax and let us play a few games first.

The problem is I think we are going to go 0 - 2 almost certainly. You remember what the Falcons did to us the last time we played and this time it's at their house. The Chiefs have a lot of good young players and are up and coming. So 0 - 4 is really possible. And KC is really loud and a tough place to play.

If we are 0 - 4 we will implode and there will be infighting. There already is after one loss. This is going to get ugly.

I agree. We SUCK on the road. I can't express that enough (coaching here too) and we're AT the Falcons and AT the Chiefs. Then Philly comes to us and that won't be an easy game...they have smart coaches. So, yeah, we could EASILY be 1-4 or even 0-5 and I wouldn't be surprised one bit. Scary. I factored this in when I made my original predication but I'm thinking 7-9 now.

Good point about those other teams, however, the problems that cost them losses in week one were relatively unique issues. The thing that was most disturbing about the 49er loss was that it was a rewind of the issues that cost games in the past.

Let's hope they get it fixed tonight. I will be happy if they score two touchdowns against this Saints defense.

i predict a new coach oc and qb next year along with a losing record.

Not only will we miss the playoffs, but miss out on Andrew Luck.

I'm going with 8-8. Much pressure is on Jed York right now. To correct the ship, Jed must think proactively (unlike John York). The good news is that the Niners are now a MUCH more attractive team to coach unlike a few years ago. With a new stadium and a talented roster, Jed SHOULD have a higher quality list of head coaches willing to take the reigns.

Head Coach, OC, QB and CB are the weak links to this team. I'll take 8-8 with a good draft and solid game plan from Jed and we'll be a very dangerous team.

Yes, there is better overall talent, however, on the offensive side, this team is built to be a 3-yards-and-a-grass-stain type of team. They do not have the talent to be an exciting, down-the-field type of team. When this team has the quality talent to be a potent offense, Frank Gore will no longer be on the team.

Figure it out; none of the current receivers can go down the field and create separation, the OL can't run outside, the QB appears to be only average at best. What QUALITY coaches are there out there that are going to be attracted to that?

This team is the Bill Parcells NYG but without Phil Sims.

This season could go downhill very fast and very ugly if we are not careful. I believe the Niners will play better tonight, but still expect them to lose a good game to the Saints.

They are going to go about .500 in the remaining games after this game to the break, and then play better in the second half.

HOWEVER...after seeing Singletary melt down this weekend with his TV interview, I'm not sure he can turn this thing around.. if things start off slowly, and we are 1-3 or 1-4, which could easily happen at this point.

The Niners can pull this airplane up soon, when these things happen:
1) Smith and Crabtree begin to play together. Missing much of the offseason has made them incredibly rusty in their timing.
2) Get Heitmann back to stabilize the line. When Raye calls him the "second quarterback" for the team, and the coaching staff names him team captain again, his loss is a tough one to swallow. Do not underestimate his presence for Alex Smith. This would allow the team to move Baas to replace Rachal or Iupati, or into a primary place for backup duties.
3) The OLB position is settled, and the best rotation is established. Right now, things are still in limbo.
4) The Niners remember to spread the field: They have some playmakers, but running up the gut 40% of the time is not going to work in a big-play league.

AND

5) Most importantly, FREE ALEX SMITH. Either get the play into him before 10 seconds are left on the clock, or let him line up in the shotgun and call his own plays. Don't frustrate him by relaying the message through 8 guys before it hits his helmet.

P.S. Soon, the Crabtree bashers are going to gush with praise. It could begin to happen as early as tonight. The kid works hard and has a ton of talent. He just needs the reps. The rest will settle itself.
