I'm convinced this guy doesn't know jack about football. The 49ers receivers catch more bad balls than most other NFL teams? Please... on any given Sunday there are several incredibly difficult and acrobatic catches made that make QBs look great. However, those highlights haven't been created by a 49er since Terrel Owens left town. This is as bad as his comment stating that Calvin Johnson is going to have a harder time getting open this season because he doesn't have as good of a supporting cast; never mind the Burleson and Scheffler signings... and it being Matt Stafford's second year as an NFL QB... I'm babbling, here is his quote.

Alex learned to throw by "locking" his left knee which makes the ball sail high. He has worked on his mechanics but when he is under pressure he throws the ball with his left leg straight as an arrow and his knee locked. It's called muscle memory or oh sh!t I'm going to get clobbered again. I don't know if he'll ever be able to rid himself of that bad habit?

He's right about Alex's accuracy. You're kidding yourself if you think he places the ball well. Hell, his horrible duck got Crabtree injured. He almost got Ginn killed by leading him straight into a hit.

Wake up, people. Clayton may or may not be an idiot, but in this case he's correct.

I'm sorry, but you have no idea of the conditions of the crabtree incident. And you act like only inner receivers get injured by their qb or something.

well the thing is, they have a higher chance of getting in dangerous situations....we might have not of watched the Crabtree incident live....but even Alex fanboys like MattM did and they pointed out the situation when it first happened....

but forget that, we can go back to Vernon's injury...we all saw that...it was unnecessarily high.

It seems that most of his opinions are uninformed and unsupported. How does he retain his job?

For a while, he seemed to be the guy to get an early yet accurate scoop on news. If Clayton said ***** was being traded to ****** because of ****** reasons, people believed it instantly. Since those days a while ago, I think he's just clawing away at what's left of a career. Now when asked about specific team info, he's as lost as most of the other arrogant talking heads.
