1990 MNF 49ERS 7 GIANTS 3 yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they won the meeting that counted that year, f**king leonard marshall
The 49ers/Giants rivalry in those days was epic. They seemed to play every year and every game was a knife fight.

The best defenses in the league, going toe to toe... it doesn't get any better
I believe they were both undefeated at that point. The game was being billed as Superbowl XXIV 1/2, that's how dominant those teams were that year.
Remember that game like it was yesterday.

That was the game that Ronnie Lott said Hello to Mark Bavaro.

The Giants never did score a TD on us that season (or in the NFC Championship game)
Probably the best Monday night game I have ever seen! Ronnie was playing on two bum knees too and I believe he knocked down a potential TD pass near the end. Wow.

FIXED.
I miss Al Michaels, Frank Gifford and Dan Dierdorf on Monday Night. I hate Mike Turico and Ron Jaworski

Really, we needed TWO threads for this same youtube clip.

lock it up mods.
You see the shots that Montana took after he got rid of the ball? Nowadays those plays would be penalized as roughing the passer. Football still is very violent, but that era definitely required more will and personal courage to play the QB position.
