We should have gone 6-0 last year! We will be much improved and that possibility is totally within the cards.
IMO it was a fluke to beat the cards twice last year.
sorry but flukes don't happen twice in 1 season. i have short term memory but if i'm correct, both those games were a$$ whipppins. i'll admit the first game was close BUT our defense was killin them(the a$$ whippin part). we were sackin'em & stoppin'em. come-on now. another year of D chemistry & an improved smith(hopefully & knock on wood), football season is here(thankfully) & we'll see who's right & who's wrong.
warner is gone so this is irrelevant we cant see whos right and whos wrong we are playing a much worse cardinals team no warner no boldin no dansby no rolle
the team to beat in teh west is seahawks who i see as a pretty good team

Plus the fact that their Pro Bowl QB is now gone and replaced by an erratic Leinart. They also lost their leaders on defense in Dansby and Rolle. I can see us winning both games again.

Those were big losses but the leader on that defense is Wilson.
The QB situation over there is a horrible mess. I got on their boards to see what they are saying and it is ugly. They seem just as concerned about the O-Line. These Cardinals are just not going to be as good as last year's. Could they make a run? Yeah, but I'd put my money down on the Niners right now.

Take away all the quarterbacks, and we have more talent than any other team on our schedule. The problem, as another poster pointed out, if we start running 3 draw plays in a row, like we did against the Vikings, all that talent goes to waste.
Also, without a quarterback who can win a couple of games by himself, its really tough to go 13-3 in the NFL. If Anthony Davis gets a little better before the season starts, and Smith can make plays under pressure, then anything is possible.

LOL after 1st pre-season game it was 3-13. After the second it's now 13-3. If we win this weekend, someones going to suggest the perfect season and SB victory...

I still think we are a 9 win team - maximum 10 games. Our D is good, but we OL is young and stupid and we will lose a game or two because of that.
But, we will win the division.

Sun 12/5 @Packers Tough loss
I dislike ANYBODY and EVERYBODY who has or ever will say that we will loose to the Packers. Shame on you.
I don't care if we were a high school team.
Where's your damn pride boy.

Now before I get started here, let me point out that I'm one of those guys who has been calling us at either 5-11 or worse since 2004. Not a damn thing during that time frame has given me reason to be optimistic and invest serious hopes in the upcoming season.
Something about the way the team finished 2009, and the way they are approaching this upcoming season....combined with what really is an easy schedule.....finally has me believing otherwise.
Week 1 @ Seattle: Thank you NFL. A great opportunity to kill a division rival in their own house, and put the league on notice that the 2010 49ers mean business. Be warned however; blow this game, or even allow the Seahawks to make it close, and the team's self-confidence might take a hit right at the start of the season. If this year's Niners want anyone to take them seriously, this is a must-win-in-blowout-fashion game. (W)
Week 2 vs. New Orleans on Monday Night Football: Candlestick Park will be roaring like we have not heard in years for this one. I think of the environment at kickoff to be something similar to what the New Orleans experienced in their homecoming game after Hurricane Katrina against Atlanta. You might recall that night went quite well for the Saints. In what is sure to create all kinds of national headlines, the 49ers dispose of the NFL Champions in a rousing home performance, and the talk suddenly begins..... (W)
Week 3 @ Kansas City: Can't let all those new bandwagon fans down now. Kansas City becomes a victim of the NFL's hottest franchise. (W)
Week 4 @ Atlanta: The effects of a cross-country trip in the second of back-to-back road games has little effect on the Red and Gold, who take advantage of an Atlanta team who continues to struggle at finding their identity. Not exactly sweet revenge for the whooping the Falcons layed down at Candlestick last season, but a methodical win tied together by solid defensive play. (W)
Week 5 Vs. Philadelphia on Sunday Night Football: The second national showcase game of the season. Al Michaels finally gets the pleasure of calling a 49er game at Candlestick once again, as San Francisco beats, bruises, and batters young Kevin Kolb into the ground all night long. Frank Gore shines under the lights as the 49ers roll on. (W)
Week 6 vs. Oakland: The Battle of the Bay is over by halftime, as Vernon Davis scorches the middle of the field to embers. Look for Michael Crabtree to make contributions in this one as well, a love letter to Al Davis. (W)
Week 7 @ Carolina: The lowly Panthers are no match even at home against a hawkish 49ers secondary. Alex Smith and his offense enjoy a nice Sunday afternoon off as Carolina implodes and puts all the points on the board...for the road team. (W)
Week 8 vs. Denver at Wembley Stadium: It's no secret the 49ers have a long-established international fan base. Expect a sea of Red and Gold to blanket the bleachers and a superior performance from the 49ers over Denver in yet another showcase game. Frank Gore is the story in this one, taking full advantage of a Broncos defense who's still not sure what time zone they're in. (W)
Week 9 Bye: The perfect spot to recharge the batteries and refocus on finishing strong against the tougher half of the schedule.
Week 10 vs. St. Louis: The perfect punching bag for a hungry team who is now squarely focused on a championship and nothing else. Look for all the rust to be shaken off early, and pinpoint execution on both sides of the ball in the second half. (W)
Week 11 vs. Tampa Bay: Trap game. Looks like an easy win on paper, everyone will be predicting a surefire win, etc. It's critical that Samurai Mike gets the team into the killer instinct mindset for these must-crush-the-opposition games. Use the 15-1 Bears as a teaching tool for how to get it done clean. This one clinches the division, that should be motivation enough.(W)
Week 12 @ Arizona on Monday Night Football: We just don't know about the 2010 Cardinals yet. They may or may not be in it at this point. Either way, it's primetime against a divisional rival that swept them last year. Regardless of the playoff implications, Arizona will be ready for war. Funny thing is, the 49ers still have their number. (W)
Week 13 @ Green Bay: How many times have we seen the 49ers have to travel to Lambeau Field late in the year with playoff positions on the line for both sides? Always a struggle, the Packer crowd will once again will their team to a 4th quarter victory over the big bad 49ers. The important thing is that San Francisco remembers all the lessons learned here, for they will see Green Bay again. (L)
Week 14. vs. Seattle: Good medicine following a tough road loss. The 49ers get back to basics, and Frank Gore puts on an encore performance of his 2009 home game against the Seahawks. (W)
Week 15 @ San Diego on Thursday Night Football: A far more important game for the Chargers than the 49ers at this stage of the season. Look for San Diego to pull away in the third quarter and for Singletary to start pulling starters shortly thereafter. (L)
Week 16 @ St. Louis: The starters get a full three quarters and it's more than a match for the Rams, who are shopping for a new city to call home....(W)
Week 17 vs. Arizona: This one is a push. It's a ruined Cardinals team against hungry 49ers backups who have not seen first-half action all season long. We'll give this one to Derek Anderson, hoping to make a push for the starting job in 2011. (L)
At 13-3 the young 49ers not only make the postseason for the first time in seven years, but they secure a bye as well. I'm not ready to say they finish first in the conference, but it's a dandy either way.
As for the playoffs, well...I have a couple of different ways of looking at this. We can make comparisons to the 2001 Bears, or 2006 Ravens. Both were out-of-nowhere 13-3 teams who lost in the divisonal round. I think it's very likely that the 2010 49ers will add to that trend, as I'm not entirely sure they are ready for that kind of pressure yet. Or....
Or we can look at the fact that every NFC West team has been to the Super Bowl in the last 10 years...all except San Francisco (even Atlanta and Carolina count!) Are they the '99 Rams, destined to take it all without fail? Or will they falter like Seattle and Arizona?
Funny logic says if, IF somehow the 49ers do win the NFC playoffs....we take it all. Pittsburgh sure as hell is going nowhere this season (the common denominator against SEA and ARZ).
I've long said that if the 49ers ever do return to the Super Bowl, there is only one team they are destined to play....and that's the Cincinnati Bengals. And you know what? They just might have a shot this year too. So using funny logic.....
49ers win it all over the Bengals....in the house that Jerry built.
Honestly though, I'm more inclined to go with the one-and-out divisional playoff loss scenario.
Either way, no matter what, this is going to be a hell of a great season for our beloved 49ers....but we are not quite Jedi....yet.
lmao no way we start off the season 11-0. Horrible prediction.

Sun 9/26 @Chiefs Win - The Chiefs suck
Sun 10/03 @Falcons Loss - We'll give them a better game than 2009, but still come up short
Sun 10/10 Eagles Win - I think the Eagles will decline this year
Sun 10/17 Raiders Win - Battle of the Bay goes to SF
Sun 10/24 @Panthers Loss - Should win this game, but the Panther's escape with the win.
Sun 10/31 Broncos Win - I think the Bronco's and McDaniel will implode this season.
BYE (5-3 at the Bye)
Sun 11/14 Rams Win - We smoke the re-building Rams.
Sun 11/21 Buccaneers Win - This should be a win.
Mon 11/29 @Cardinals Win - I think by this time the Cards will be fading and we'll be facing Skelton.
Sun 12/5 @Packers Loss - Lambeau in December . . . Brrrrrrrr - Loss
Sun 12/12 Seahawks Win - Home win clinches the division.
Thur 12/16 @Chargers Loss - Short turn-around, we lose
Sun 12/26 @Rams Win - 10AM start, but it's the Rams.
Sun 1/2 Cardinals Win - Starters are resting after the 1st half, but we still pull it out.
My rose-colored take is 11-5.
Dude we will CRUSH the panthers!! I live out here and i'm going to that game! I will not be letdown agaiN!! LOL f**k em they have no WR's!!!
I think Carolina is a team we should beat, but we always seem lay an egg in at least one 10AM East Coast game . . . and after this game the team jets off directly to London . . . so who know's where their heads will be?

yeah the team will be mentally worn out in my opinion.
