Absolutely love the signing. We now have two legit threats in the backfield, well actually three with Dixon, but hes still a young buck. Every time I think of Westbrook, I think back when he juked Tony Parrish outta his shoes. He owned Parrish so bad, Parrish couldn't even trip him.
But damn I never thought Westbrook would choose the 9ers.

Man, I love the signing but there is the consensus amongst us that feel he is injury prone. He already hurt his hammy on Saturday. His first action. I hope this does not become a reoccurring problem. Dixon is not ready to step in for Gore.
I think he'll be fine. Maybe he tweaked it because it was his first game back in a while.
Running backs
20-Brian Westbrook: He played six snaps in his 49ers debut before leaving the game with a cramp in his hamstring. He carried twice for 17 yards. He was stuffed for no gain on his first attempt, then took a handoff out of the shotgun formation on third and 6 for a 17-yard burst up the middle. He is considered "day to day."

Saturday was the first real action BW's seen in quite awhile...so the fact his hammy's sore is to be expected. He has two more weeks to get ready for the regular season...he'll be fine. Whether he carries the ball or catches it, he's a great compliment to Gore. Like Singletary, I was amazed he was still available...

Very happy with the Westbrook signing. I have been wanting a "scat-back" in SF for a while now. While WB may not have crazy outside speed anymore, he's still a big upgrade from what we had at #2 going into this season. I really like the promise shown by Dixon also... so I'm pretty confident in our RB corps.

I dont hate it but i really aint enjoying it
monday nights game against a poor Cardinals defense was a fluke
Gore would of easily gotten over 200 yards rushing if he didnt get hurt
you lost it Brian
good thing it was only a 1 year deal

It was good to see westbrook go up the middle right,up the middle left, up the middle off center today. Its good to see, since that system didn't work with gore why not try it with westbrook who with philly made his bread and butter off pitches catching swing passes coming out of the back field and creating mis-matches...but why use the players strengths rite?? At least were consistant.....
