I have nothing against you or anyone else or DAVIS I'm just fed up with people saying put Davis in he's god. He could very well be AMAZING but I will reserve judgment until it is proven on the field. He has currently done nothing, he is known to have problems in practice with the playbook and he has done well against scrubs, if he plays well this weekend I WILL BE VERY EXCITED because the niners are life, however until then I will wait for results that matter!@

Yet the two of you consistently say that Nate Davis SUCKS and is retarded??

I guess that doesn't include negative judgements?

At any rate, he has shown enough for some cautious optimism for some of us. As to those annointing him a Pro Bowl QB or whatever... you're better off just ignoring those members.

Btw, nobody is saying Davis is god nor does anyone think that (he's yet to prove anything of substance), so stop making s**t up. And if you can't see the raw talent and natural QB skills this kid has, you REALLY don't know your football.

Ghost, I have to disagree with you here. YOU don't think that he is "God" and are reserving judgment, because YOU have football knowledge and common sense. Many in NT have already declared him Pro Bowl bound, however....

Not worth the warning.

I was not attacking you; quite the opposite.

he is retarded that doesnt mean i want him to succeed. He is gonna make an awesome 2nd Qb for the next 10+ years behind Alex Smith.

Ill bash Nate Davis as long as people keep bashing Alex Smith.

~Brady didn't earn his shot until his 2nd season...Davis is in his second season. I don't see your point here.

~I don't necessarily think Davis is the best QB on the team right now...but I also don't think he's the worst. He's clearly the worst practice QB we have, which is the primary reason he's 3rd string. What I do think is that he's a more natural QB than either Smith or Carr, and just needs more time to learn the playbook and of course, actual playing experience to see what he can do against real NFL players.

~IMO, Davis has the natural skills/talent to be an NFL starter...whether he ever gets there will depend on his ability to master a playbook and play within the scheme he's being taught.

Haha, sorry about that. I had posted something bad about someone else in reply to the bolded above, but thought better of it.

Probably wise....I've avoided many warnings that way, myself!

Anywho...

I, too, would like to see what Davis can do against a "real" defense. Based on a very limited sample size, he certainly does appear to have natural talent and good football instincts.

I agree with this post.
Nate Davis will get his chance this weekend with his LOL "natural qb skills" LOL David Carr must have those two because he carved up that defense pretty good yeeeeeehaw!~ If Davis does good I'll be happy if he doesn't I won't care? he's a backup backup qb and the training camp sweetheart of the 49erwebzone haters he's the new kory sheets, the new and improved shaun hill.

Said Raye: "The one ability that he has is highlighted in the parts of the game he plays in. Because if a guy is open, he'll hit him, he'll get the ball to them. He's another guy who's in a position where he needs to play early on against guys who have played in the NFL. He needs to play in that level. ... In the second and third exhibition game, we will experiment with some of that."

That's all I was saying...nothing more, nothing less.

I personally think Nate Davis has done alot, it seems as though his drives always lead to TD's. For being 3rd string and not getting near as many reps as Alex or even Carr which would affect any QBs efficiency, he has brushed it off and done the best job possible. He almost has no timing with his WR's and is still %100 percent accurate, I think thats why Raye wants to see more of what he can do. Also, I think Carr's stats are misleading, the numbers dont show his movement in the pocket, and his awareness, he has a knack for getting sacked and thats always been his problem, I dont see any difference just cause he changed uniforms.

I'll take the "Natural Skills" any Sunday, instead of developing excuses
Carr is not a long-term member of this team. he is here to provide experience at the backup QB position, and possibly to be a stopgap starter next season if Smith doesn't pan out this year while we develop a rookie or Davis.

Davis will not supplant him this season, but he probably has more of a future with the team. He will have a chance to prove if that's true or not this preseason.

Nobody thinks Nate Davis is God. Some fans just believe that the team got another steal in the draft(the others being Gore in the 3rd round, Willis at #11 first round, Crabtree #10), and want to see him groomed as the potential QB of the future.

He was considered a 1st/2nd round pick but fell to the 5th because of his learning disability. His 1st rd physical talent has been displayed during preseason games and his 5th rd learning disability is on display during practice.

Even during the San Diego preseason game last year, he played well. There's a video of every throw he made last year so there is no spinning it any other way.

The video shows him clearly eluding the pass rush and making accurate throws, checking down, throwing 20 yds outs on a rope, hitting the reciever in stride, staying composed in the pocket. All this without knowing the offense.

The kid has been successful with his limited reps and has earned the chance to push for the #2 spot.
