Peter King MMQB

7. I think I saw an awful lot of wobbly throws by Alex Smith when I watched the 49ers the other day. The attitude around the 49ers is basically this: We don't need Alex Smith to be a great quarterback, we just need him to execute the offense. Understood. But the 49ers led the NFL last year in a long-yardage category (third down and eight yards or more), which says to me that the 49ers quarterback is going to need to make a lot of accurate throws down the field. That's going to be the real test for Alex Smith: Can he throw an 18-yard out to Michael Crabtree on a line? Or a deep throw?

nice videos, man
Peter King is a worthless joke!

NINERS4LIFE!
Wobbly throws my ass. Everything we've been hearing is about how good Alex has looked and last season he was throwing bullets all over the place. If anything he probably needs to develop more touch. Peter King is a f**king moron.
He probably hadn't had one of his fancy coffee drinks and couldn't focus on the task at hand.
We'll all see soon enough. It's time for some Pre-season games!
why is it the first time im hearing of this neither of the matts or that sam guy or even a completely unbiased seattle fan (mike sando) said that all i heard is that hes doing great l

peter king
So peter King watches a guy for a couple hours and makes a decision......

PETER KING PLEASE SHUT THE F**K UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Meh, King saw what he saw. He's not out to get the 9ers and he doesn't hate Smith.

Its not like Smith has a history of being the most accurate QB. He's thrown many wobbly and inaccurate passes during his time here.

What worries me is that is seems like the company line out of the 9ers is as long as Smith just manages the game we should be fine. To me that's not going to be good enough. Its a QB driven league, and if we can't sling it when we have to, we'll be no better than last year.

That part of his colum is called 10 things I like to think.
For what its worth Scott Ostler had a column Aug. 5th that said the same thing about Smiths arm and that alot of his passes are wobbly and inaccurate. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2010/08/05/SPE81EOR3A.DTL
Nobody here cares about Kings opinions so why do people feel the need to post this crap.
