Training Camp 2010

Seems to be a lot of injuries already in other camps, hopefully we can stay clear of this early trend.

he is not expected to come till the first preseason game

thats what she said...
yeah, except i wouldn't care if Carr went down cuz that would mean more snaps for Nate Davis. Plus I think Davis' upside is much higher than Carr's. Everybody is claiming Nate is having trouble learning the Book but I think he is just being super critical of himself just like everyone else. Note: other players that made their names in the preaseason: Tony Romo, Terrell Davis.

There seems to be a lot of worry in the media and by some fans about the "nutcracker" drill etc,and how Sing's TC might be too tough and might be causing injuries.

I wish the media and some fans would get off the ripping of sing because of the "nutcracker" drills ! All the nutcracker drills are supposed to do is have player against player ,both giving 100% . If they can't do it in practice without getting hurt, then what makes anyone think they would be able to do it in a game without getting hurt.
It's not like every play in a Sing practice requires 100% of every player, but in a game the players darn well better be giving 100% on every play !!! If they can't even give 100% in a few drills that comprise les than 1% of their practice time, then how can they ever be expected to have the mindset in games of giving 100% on EVERY PLAY ?
Sing is instilling an attitude into his team ,and I for one am glad he is continuing the "nutcracker" and the "Pain Hill" etc etc.
Sing is not using the nutcracker all season long in every practice and will not work the players too long and hard all season long, since that would have the players wearing down as the season progressed. But in Training Camp, these things are necessary ,if you want a tough minded team that will out tough the opponents on game days .
Keep it up sing !
Training camp updates are coming through maiocco's twitter http://twitter.com/MaioccoCSN and barrows twitter http://twitter.com/mattbarrows

49ers stretching. They're wearing shells - no shoulder pads, just the lesser protection on shoulders. Full pads tomorrow.
Patrick Willis and Vernon Davis at the center of the field leading team stretches.

There are 79 players on 49ers practice field. Aubrayo Franklin is not here. (However, SJSU assistant coach Bryant Young is here watching.)

49ers WRs: flankers Morgan, Hill, Jones, Williams, Long; split ends Crabtree, Ginn, Zeigler, Grant.

Just heard the first "Just watch Dominique" of camp. 49ers WRs coach Jerry Sullivan often uses Zeigler as an example to rookie receivers.

Looks like it's nutcracker time ...

OL coach Mike Solari explaining some nutcracker-esque drill to 49ers.
Aubrayo Franklin might show up by the time Solari finishes explaining this drill. #49ers

appreciate that.
twitter updates also coming through phil barber http://twitter.com/Skinny_Post

Jerry Sullivan getting on Ginn for keeping his head down too long on route

Bottoms of Crabtree's cleats so sparkly red they blind me

Solari's lesson now entering 12th minute. No wonder Sing moved up first practice by a day

7 on 7 begins

MaioccoCSN-Looks like today they're just teaching how to do nutcracker. Tomorrow, with pads on, they'll do it for real.

Phil Barber is such a negative ass person.
Maicco says: Taylor Mays-Reggie Smith are second-team 49ers safeties.
