How does Ted Ginn Jr. effect the vision for this offense in 2010? I guess more of a shotgun/spread base?

I really don't think it's gonna look that much different. We'll still get into our spread to suit Alex, but Ginn isn't that much of a play maker to dramatically change what we do.

Good post! I just hope we get better play calling and less RUNS UP THE MIDDLE than last year! That alone is worth 3 more wins...

I think now we have the pieces on the offensive line to run a similar offense. Potential Pro Bowlers in the making.
Staley---Iupati---Heitmann---Rachal---A. Davis
I like how that looks!

Run Run Punt... until we are down by a 21 points.... Then when the opponent switches to a prevent we have Smith throw for a bunch of meaningless yards!

If there is one thing I am worried about, it would be this offense being predictable. They say they want balance, but what will we see come game day? Will Jimmy Raye let Alex Smith take control of this offense? I hope so.

I believe that Solary will solidify the oline along with our new RT taht we will get in the draft.
Since this is the first year of continuity for the offense in 5+ years we will see significant progress in our play making ability. I would see us raise up to a top 15 to top 10 offense simply on the base of continuity.
A. Smith will also improve as a QB because of the continuity. He will improve to a top 15 or higher QB.
Our scoring productivity will go up by at least 5 points a game due to the continuity, the better oline, the better passing and the more communication between Smith and his playmakers. There will be much less confusion, and chaos in the offense, and thus more consistent offense.
I don't think that SF be a top 5 offense because it will take another year for the oline to jell at its greatest potential, but I would say top 9-15 will be where our offense will go.
That is right in line with what these KC Chiefs teams were able to do on offense. But what I think makes us better is our defense.
I think if we get a realistically quality draft - meaning 3 starters - improved oline play, and improved QB play we will be in the playoffs. Once in the playoffs we have a punchers chance of making some headway. Once in the playoffs I would predict taht 2011 would be our year for realistic SB contention.
I think we potentially hit that mark with our draft results. Wouldn't you say so?

The least he'll do is change what the defense does. That is, not stack the box.

Awesome post bro. Rarely seen on the MB and from the looks of a lot of the responses, I can see why. Does anyone understand that we're trying to build a franchise. Not from scratch, but even worse. Sing was left with a DISGRACE of a franchise, a horrible attitude in the locker room, not even a sniff of players' potential being reached, I could go on forever. And in less than 2 years he has turned this around into something respectable. He has a vision, and he's putting the pieces in place.
This post was meant to show us what Raye and Solari are capable of, and that's PRODUCING. Something our offense hasn't done consistently for a decade.
All you haters go move to Arizona

nice work do you know what formations they mostly ran ubder raye in kc? alex has been much more successful in the spread/shotgun thuogh with a much improved o lone raye should be able to mix up the play calling unlike last year when alex was under center it was run 98% of the time
