All this talk about us being shoo-ins for the division, or setting sights on conference championships, or even the Siuper Bowl for this coming season are borderline hysterical. There's nothing wrong with setting your goals high, but THIS YEAR? Conference, yes, a good shot, but beyond is wishful thinking and some of you seem to believe it's legit, at least partially due to our 2 first rounders. Huh? We're in a position to help ourselves in the draft, but so is every other team, and let's face it, our record in recent years doesn't exactly smack of excellence in either evaluating or developing talent (with a few exceptions, of course).
No disrespect to Sing, but to go from last year's record to a championship is Bill Walsh terrain and Sing ain't no Bill Walsh. And York ain't Eddie D, nor does he have his bottomless wallet; and we don't have McKittrick to get our O-line in shape.Other than that.......
Let's concentrate on getting better (would 10-6 be asking too much?), solidifying our O-line, seeing if Alex really IS the man (this should be his last chance) and manning our other weak positions with true NFL caliber starters. The conference may come; anything more would be icing on the cake and a pleasant surprise.
