Crabtree already playing with fire on his "diva clause"

Quote:
The contract that Michael Crabtree ultimately signed with the 49ers ties millions in base-salary escalators to at least 90 percent participation in all activities -- mandatory and voluntary. The provision has come to be known as a "diva clause."

And so with voluntary offseason workouts launching on Monday, the reformed diva was there 30 minutes early for Day One, right?

Well, no.

Matt Maiocco of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports that Crabtree missed Monday and Tuesday, before showing up on Wednesday.

Though each Friday is set aside as a make-up day, Crabtree at best will be at 75 percent for the first week of his first set of offseason workouts.

And so we suspect that the 49ers likely are echoing Elaine from "The Contest": "This is gonna be the easiest money I've ever made in my life."

Meh
We should have drafted Oher.... just kidding.
stop waiting for him to fail. just let him do his thing. you dont need to watch every move waiting to see "i told you he was a diva, i told you he was a diva!" VD and Gore weren't even there. i know crabs should be there, but it was the first day. its not like he skipped the whole offseason.
Just niners' news bro. I love Crabtree.

PFT is always trying to start s**t. This is not news worthy, or sponge worthy.
I remember hearing stories about him working with Trent Dilfer to stay fresh and learn routes while he was holding out, I'm not worried about his work ethic at all.

They don't like Crabtree. The guy has problem with players demanding millions of dollars for playing football. Ironic thing is, Florio himself earns s**t load of money writing about football. He shouldn't even be b***hing. If it wasn't for these players, he would be some blood-sucking no good lawyer.

I'll be susweel in this thread, you can be a regular poster.

f**k Crabtree, I'm tired of this guy always showing up to s**t late. What a f**king joke.
All he did was show up two days late. I doubt he'll have a problem reaching the 90% attendance requirement.

Other teams writers, scouts, fans, are all pissed that we got Crabtree where we did. They loved the holdout, and now that Crabtree has shown that he can play, they are more pissed, so they are going to pick him apart every time Crabtree moves a finger or coughs.
