outcoached,outplanned and out of luck = out of playoffs

This is a team that is closer to a playoff caliber team than it has been over the last 5 years which is the good news the bad news is that isn't close enough to really be playoff worthy or viable. The niners simply get out coached and the game plan is never fresh , innovative or surprising. If the NFL is a copycat league and teams can identify your weakness you better make adjustments. The niner coaching staff has not made adjustments all season long. The only real change you have seen is a qb change and moving to the spread after we are down by 17 or more points. We need to build both lines in the offseason with O-line as the priority and D-line a very close 2nd. We need a Shannahan , Gruden, Holmgren to make this thing really roll but that isn't going to happen and you know Jimmy raye is coming back because you just can't have a 6th OC in 6 years. I dont know if Coach sing has it in him to make those dramatic changes or if young Jed has it in him to go get the "right" man we shall see.....
