For those who didn't watch or listen to Sings presser today he answered a question in a way that should make a lot of you happy.
Reporter: Jimmy last week said that obviously you want to run the ball you don't want to put a square peg in a round hole and your not going to be stubborn about that and you did call more passing plays then running plays Sunday but at some point are you in your mind allowing the fact that you might turn into a passing team more then a physical running team?
Coach Sing: I look at it this way when I say I want to be a physical team I want to be a physical team running the ball and I want to be a physical team throwing the ball. I want our WR's to be knocking the snot out of somebody, I want our OL to be running down the field hitting somebody. To me that's physical I have always said I don't care. Throwing the ball last year when Mike Martz was here I'm ok throwing the ball, as long as were not throwing it to the other team, I'm ok with that. But it has to go to our guys and if we have the confidence in our QB and the QB has confidence in the O Line and has confidence in the relationship with the WR's to throw the ball, I don't care about that. I care about winning that's whats important to me, I'm not tied up with this or that. I want to do what ever we have to do to win and that's what I'm looking for everyday.
I was trying to copy his words verbatim so please excuse the writing.

all this raye/sing are stubborn crap is getting old. they are starting open it up more now that we have a legit qb that can handle it, and a #1 WR in Crabtree. The OL still sucks and makes it hard to throw all game long, the offense is evolving Raye/Sing have a new starting qb and there is no way they could have got this team in full blown passing mode in 1 week.

I think Raye and Sing know exactly what they are doing. They knew with Hill in the game that Gore is our best player and to get him the ball as much as possible to get a win. It was unfortunate that gore got hurt and it allowed the D to creep the line a little closer with the inexperience of Coffee. Now with Alex, it is a different story. They are/were not sure what they had with him, so they put him on a short lease, (longer than hill) to ease him in. Now that they see that Alex can do the job and get the ball to our other play makers (Crabtree and maybe Morgan) our O will be more efficient in the future, hopefully with better o-line play.

I disagree with his quote. I know what he wants to do but he needs to waken up quickly that you can win games the other way. The way that we know how to play right now.
He shouldn't try to re-invent the wheel. Just go with what works FFS!

Coach or I? What I was trying to say that whilst I understand that he wishes us to be this tough physical football team that can bully teams into a win that is not the only way to win football games. We built a dynasty on playing slick offensive football that did not require anyone to run themselves into the ground.
The power running game is not working. The personnel is not getting it. There is change from the shotgun spread. Seems only logical to me to maintain what works.

Don't read too much into it. It's BS coach talk. He's covering up for his pathetic offensive philosophy of sitting on a 2 point lead against the top offense in the league. .
