i was doing research on our records against other teams since the divisional realignment in 2002. the results were not pretty obviously, but somewhat interesting.
from 2002 until week 5 of the 2009 season:
We are 23-22 against our division. only 22-50 against the rest of the NFL...
13-31 against the NFC, 9-19 against the AFC.
by division, we are 5-11 against the NFC East, 3-11 against the NFC South, 5-9 against the NFC North, 4-4 against the AFC West, 2-6 against the AFC North, 2-6 against the AFC East, and 1-3 against the AFC South
some notable matchup extremes include records of just 0-5 vs. the Saints, 1-4 vs. the Eagles, 0-3 against GB & ATL, and 1-3 against the NYG.
on the positive side, we are 3-0 against the Lions, 2-0 against the Raiders, 3-1 against TB. coming into this weeks matchup with Houston, we are an undefeated 1-0 in the all time series. lol.
Also, we are 8-3 in Overtime games, and currently have NOT lost an OT game since Oct. 26th, 2003 against AZ, going 7-0 since then. that will be exactly 6 years this sunday since we lost an OT game, which is pretty impressive.
we are 29-31 at home, and 16-41 on the road
Sorry to bring up bad memories of years past, but i thought it was interesting to see how weve done record wise against specific teams.

So clearly, our strategy should be to send all games into OT.

Very interesting but you better not have jinxed us with that 7-0, 6 years of no overtime loses BS!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the interesting facts though.

"So clearly, our strategy should be to send all games into OT."
Not only that, but if we could somehow convice the NFL to let us play ALL our games at home, we'd have a much better record!

the worst part about these standings are, the 23-22 against the division represents the only division weve had any success against.
so if we had been in the NFC South say, instead of the Bucs, were probably looking at a significant amount less wins. its no secret the NFC West has been the weakest NFC division overall since 2002. its just a good thing we played alot of NFC West teams over the years.
