Hill is more athletic than Smith.

first of all that is rediculous to even ask that question
second of all the only reason the wildcat works for miami is they stay committed to it rather than using it as a gimmick in their offense, you cant just sprinkle it in and expect it to be a game changer

If you look at teams running the wildcat, the 'Fins arguably being the most successful, it isn't a QB pulling the trigger. It's a RB, usually, and most have the ability to throw the ball some. Smith was a QB in a spread offense at Utah...and had a lot of success, but that was in the Mtn West, not the NFL.

The problem is the O-line and that turtle shaun hill
because he got beat out in TC/Preseason by a undrafted, noodled armed, 6 year back up.

I hope you mean Jason Hill, cuz I KNOW you are not talking about Shaun Hill.

Knock it off kiddies... and no, we should not consider Alex for the wild-cat/wild-taser, whatever the hell that mess was. No good reason to have Smith running around taking shots to his shoulder.

Get over this wildcat BS. The only team that can run it is the Dolphins and that is because they have probably the most talented athlete (Ronnie Brown) playing RB in the league running it the majority of the time. It also doesn't hurt that he gets to hand it off to Ricky Williams. Just wait till Pat White gets comfortable in that system.
Our wildcat or taser is dead.

I saw enough during pre-season
And you probably dont follow the niners enough to know what Urban Meyers said before we drafted him?!
Till this day that hasnt happened yet, But it looks like Raye will be able to here for the next couple years....WHICH IS A GOOD THING (i hope). We cant expect to have a good offense in the first year...Lets be realistic here! How long did it take our D to get where it is today (and it's still not at its potential)? Give it time people!!!!
I'd hold off on riding Alex Smith off. Lets see what he can do under an offense that he can stick with for more than one season!!!
