I've heard rumors that the 49ers are going to retire #80 at half-time during Sundays game against the falcons. Can anyone confirm or deny this for me? I can't seem to find anything talking about it but, I know I heard this a few weeks ago from somewhere.

a niner ticket salesman called me during the summer and told me they were retiring jerry or it could have been his number i don't remember
i'm surprised i haven't heard more about it

They need to do this now! Rice may be the greatest offensive player of all time. I think they should have inducted Montana, Rice, Young and Walsh day 1 along with Eddie D also.
