I don't like bandwagon fans. I've watched or listened to every game over the last 5 years, even though I've been a fan longer, I didn't watch many games until 5 years ago. A lot of pain and anguish, and it's finally paying off. For me, if someone only cares about the team when they are winning, that's a lot of B.S. I know some members of this board are like that, say that they are fans but trash the team non stop until they start winning. I always have hope that they will win, even if it's a meaningless game at the end of an abysmal season.

All it means is that the team is doing better, the stadium will be full (and louder), and those of us with season tickets will have tickets that are worth more.

most people (kids) become a fan by at first jumping on the bandwagon. Me 1985 (aged 7) - I am still riding the wagon in the UK now.

I been a fan since I was born and I was bashing this team during the Donahue era. That doesn't make you a banwagon fan. If you are a knowledgeable, hardcore fan, you will be pissed when your team does dumb s8it. I love this team so much it was hard for me to eat on Sundays when we were the worst team in the league, and I was talking mad s8it about Donahue, Erickson and York.

I meant more so people who are out there predicting 2-14 seasons before the season even starts and things like that.

if your entire day was ruined, you threw stuff at your tv, broke a remote, lost your voice, kicked your cat, any or all of the above happened to you after the vikes game...you are NOT a bandwagon fan....but the people who are...i'm not mad at you...just by some niner gear, and make some noise at the games.

After watching Montana, Young, Garcia
Then slogging through Pickett, Dorsey, Rat, Dilfer, Wenke
Its good to be on the ascent again.
That Chicago game when Vasher ran back the short field goal that fell because of the wind was probably the low point. 1999 was pretty bad too.

I really don't care. And yeah if the 9ers are doin well that's all that matters. Right now Singletary's Era beats the crap outta the Erickson/Nolan years.

I was at that game in the nose bleeds. We were surrounded by Bears fans, one of which was an ex career Dallas reserve OT. It was so windy that I would watch foil burger wrappers float from off the field slowly up and out of the stadium over my head. Going to get a beer and turning the corner into the access area's, gusts would nearly knock you over, when you were expecting it even. The thing that was so frustrating was that the Bears lined up with the returner in place, obvious as could be and we defended it soo poorly when it happened. They really gave us a hard time after that play.

Its cool to pull for a team and stick with them thru the ups and downs. I've been a fan since '88( ever since watching STEVE YOUNG and the run known as the GREAT ESCAPE took place against the vikings and YOUNG took over for MONTANA that game).I have over 300 NINER hats 20 jerseys more t-shirts and sweatshirts than a closet would allow. Since '95 I've been going to as many away games as I possibly can 1this year so far, and working on#2 and a possible playoff run.I have a whole room dect'd out rep'n the NINERS! All this plus listening to all the insults and watching all the games til the last whistle win or lose.Im average when it comes to trivia like knowing who the million dollar backfield was or some of the earlier q/bs like Y.A Tittles or brodie or knowing that Nolans dad (Dick)coached the NINERS way back in the day.Any which way anyone looks at it Im a fan and I appreciate any and all fans that stick with a team thru the worst no matter what team they pull for. I've been reading post on the ZONE for the past couple of years and just recently decided to join on, but its cool to read other true fans perspective of the team. A lot of y'all are funny as hell but its great to know that y'all are true. I dont mind fair weather bandwagon ship jumpers, they just help revenue sales to help pay those million dollar contracts.

I remember how many of us complained about bandwagon fans in 1981. Those of us who suffered through Steve Spurrier at QB the Joe Thomas years we took pride in our sado masochism love for the Niners. What p**sed us off in 1981 we use to be able to arrive at Candlestick at 10:00, park in section A (now is VIP Parking) take 2-4 parking places to have our tailgate go up to our seats and spread out and enjoy the game. Then those b*****d 49ers started winning, there went our parking spot, there went our tailgate space, damn now have to wait 2-3 hours after the game to get out of the parking lot, toilets backed up, 45 minute lines for concessions, ticket prices keep going up. Oh how we all wished we could go back to having Ken Myers as coach and an ¾ full stadium with zero enthusiasm……not. No one likes a loser and band wagon fans are the way of the world.
Welcome aboard the new generation of bandwagon fans.

i dislike bandwagon fans. if you didnt suffer through all these years of horrible play, you dont deserve to just walk up and reap the benefits as a fan.
