That wasn't on the play calling, that was on the o line not blocking and Hill not hitting his targets. First play sack, second play overthrowing(!) a route, third play, another incomplete pass. Hill is an alright QB, but he is not as good as some of you think he is. He is a game manager, not a superstar.

Regardless of what Hill's status is you can't judge a QB on one series. Every QB, even the great ones had their fair share of a lot of 3 and outs, sacks, ints, fumb. Heck even Peyton Manning threw 5 ints in one game once.

Shaun Hill fact of the day: free him!

We will finally be able to see that this Sunday!

It has nothing to do with Hill being a superstar.

We need to throw the ball UNTIL we hurt the other team.

THEN they back off a little. THEN we can run on them really hard.

Its not just a simply matter of saying, "Well, we threw X amount of times."

The point is, you have to get the other team thinking, these guys are going to hurt us if they keep throwing.

Maybe we should do a lot more shotgun and then run draws out of it. Hill and the O-line seem to be much better in shotgun.

Whatever the case, completing a pass here and there is not enough to back a team away from the line of scrimmage.

If we are going to go 3'n out anyway then we might as well try and establish our passing game.

Its going to require a LOT of passing before teams will believe we want to stick with it, and then we can run on them easily.
