Met John York yesterday

Hey guys, I just wanted to share my experience that I had at yesterdays Niner game. I went to the 49er/Viking game yesterday and sat on the 40, 3rd row on the 49er sideline. I got to the game about 2 hours early to watch warm-ups and saw Jed, Scott, and John talking before the game. John was going around and greeting fans, shaking hands, signing autographs, stuff like that. He came over by us and I waved and said hello and he asked if we would like an autograph. I sent my 12 year old Godson down to the guardrail with our program and we started talking. I told him that I was taking my godson, wife, and my 2 year old son to the little guy's first game. He then said that he had 2 Pre-Game VIP passes left for on the field and asked if we would like them!!!!! I was so pumped and thanked him for the passes and was then able to go down and take some terrific pics before the game and John even posed with us. It obviously wasn't the ending that I anticipated with the game, but Mr. York was very generous and really made this game memorable for my family. I just thought I'd share with my fellow Niner brothers this cool story and my excitement as I still can't believe it happened! BTW i will post the pic on the 49erswebzone Facebook page later if i can, I'm not sure how to post the pic on this forum.

I got to go down about until 30 minutes before the game. I was down there for about an hour! it was awesome

Wow that's Awesome! I wouldn't expect that from John.... Maybe, Eddy D or Jed, but John? Wow...

Yeah, he always struck as a nice guy and a fine human being. It´s not his fault the team fell on his lap, I guess.

I met him before the Dolphins game last year and he was very nice, shaking hands and handing out 49ers pins to the 49er fans at the game.

Yeah, he always struck as a nice guy and a fine human being. It´s not his fault the team fell on his lap, I guess.

He walks down on the field and talks to fans, signs autographs, hands out team pins, and invites fans down to the field for just about every 49ers game. Other than some unusual business practices early on, he's been a pretty good owner.

Yup! One of my cousins got had the treatment a couple years back and he was stoked! Its pretty cool that they are generous enough and care.

that really cool, man I hope when I get to my first 49ers game I can get that kind kind of treatment you see I live in Costa Rica so for me to watch a live niners is a huge deal...

I hope next year when the crisis is over I can go to SanFran and tailgate with you guys...

congrats dude, ive always like York.

He has always IMO tried to do the right thing, he has spent alot of money in the past 8 or so years on FA's, many names, some not so good, most good signees.

I hope to make it to a 49ers game in SF soon, and hoping to meet the team pres and owner.
