same, come lets get this fixed .... don't make me talk to my family today!
Might be a pop up scam that makes you think you have a virus so you download some malware/spyware.
just happened to me in the Concerns about our running game thread....

I'll need to know which ad is being served when you get it so I can find out which ad network it is and who to contact. The only common ad on the front page and the forums is the top 728x90 ad. So it is most likely that one.

What do you mean? The ad looked like a popup virus scanner? Or just your virus protection popped up? What ad was being served?

If it comes up again, i'll try to spot which ad it is. But whenever you see something like VIRUS and INFECTED you automatically want to close everything.

I have firefox with adblock enabled. I never see any ads on the webzone(they are blacked out) and didn't see any virus scan pop ups in those threads.

It was some popup that looked like a virus scanner. Not sure what product it was pushing, I always close those things asap.

Be careful, it could be the scareware ads to make you believe that you have a virus. One very, very important thing to remember: Check the icon on the top left, not right of your window. If it is an IE or Firefox (browser) icon, it is scareware.
There should be NO alert given about a virus attack from a browser!!!!! That's not their job and that is why it is fake.
If in doubt, hit your "Alt" + "F4" keys to "Kill" the current window. It won't hurt your system. If the system prompts you to logoff, you went to far...just hit the esc key.
DO NOT INSTALL THE SOFTWARE whatever you do...bad, bad juju...

That is odd because popup ads should be disabled. I hate those things.
Does anyone know for sure that it actually tried to install a virus on your system? Or was it just one of those scare tactic ads?
