That was one hell of a hit. Hope they continue to hit people in the mouth!

i don't even recall the hit.

on the punt return for a TD by Rossum that got called back, he laid the guy out, sucks that he got fined, good to see that we're trying to f**king destroy people out there.

He makes enough money, keep the hard hitting up!

Yeah I remember him getting the flag, but I don't remember seeing the hit, I guess cus they mostly focused on Coffee's block in the back

I recorded the game, I'm actually watching it right now, and he laid him the f**k out

Wasn't it quite a bit behind the play too. That guy didn't need to be blocked at all, he had pretty much given up on the play.
I saw this...I didn't think it was illegal because I didn't think it was aimed for the guys head.

Anyone have a video???
I was there, looking straight at it. Incredible hit, and I thought it was clean. Saw the other flag it was coming back anyway. I didn't think it was bad though.

49ers' Clements fined for huge hit on Obomanu

The NFL has levied a $5,000 fine against 49ers cornerback Nate Clements for unnecessary roughness against the Seahawks in Week 2.

Clements' spectacular hit on Seahawks receiver Ben Obomanu during a punt return late in the first quarter drew a 15-yard penalty, which was declined. A penalty for an illegal block in the back against Glen Coffee nullified what otherwise would have been a 75-yard return for the 49ers' Allen Rossum.

Obomanu was running full speed when Clements hit him high from the side, sending Obomanu into the air and onto his back.

Becuase the hit was WAAAAAY away from the play. I hate these kind of blocks... he got injured, it was something that could've been avoided.

I f**king hate Hines Ward. He is the worst at this. He is the reason they call penalties on these kinds of hits bc of his hit on Keith Rivers that broke his jaw and ended his season.

^^ That is why.

It was a clean hit, but it was nowhere near the play at all.

I personally thought that the flag was legit - this fine is as well.

Nasty Nate is a badass when it comes to hits, he friggen broke Jason Witten's ribs last season. I doubt Nate is even sweating this fine, the guy has enough money right now to buy his own theme park and name it "NASTY LAND".
I wish they wouldn't have their premium players on the special teams. I'd hate for Nate to get hurt on a punt return.
