i think there are only a few great cb's in the league and nate is definitely one of them. champ and asom (oak, sorry about the spelling) are the top 2 in covering, samuel is good but has had a lot more help with the defenses he has been on (NE, PHI anyone?)
Are most of you forgetting that nate clem shuts down almost every wr he goes against.....he schools chad ocho, fitz, steve smith, burress, and so on and so on. I can't believe some of you are saying he is not as good or has lost a step or even is not a top 5 to 10 cb. He is the best or top 2 at tackling against the run, forcing fumbles all around i think he is the best cb in the league. Champ is the best cover cb and the raiders have a great one as well but nate is almost up there in covering (remember bailey got burned by owens for 2 td's as well) and far ahead of the top cb's in tackling against the run, forcing fumbles, returning and shutting down the above mentioned wr's which i doubt bailey could do as good or a better job....especially against fitz

I think Clements is good, but I strongly disagree with your claim that he's the top CB, even top 5 in the game. Top 5 CBs don't get burned by Henderson, Louis Murphy, and friggin Kassim Osgood. A top CB would be able to handle himself relatively well despite having lackluster safety help, for example. He gets paid because he should be able to manage more than adequately when he's on "an island."
Clements has been struggling with that as of late. I am confident he'll do well this season though.

Bad knees, old age, lost more than a step.

I believe this could have been discussed in the thread that was started to discuss Clements. Ya know, the one you seem to be responding to.
