This was also the year the niners won the superbowl. They made the right choice by getting rid of joe.

And if you remember correctly, the only reason the niners lost was because 4 out of 5 Olinemen were out for this game.

Montana was my hero. I wanted him to show the 49ers he wasn't finished. I feel no guilt over it. It's not like it was a playoff game. I believe that game was in week 2.

I'm not gonna say I rooted against the Niners, but I wasn't mad at Joe. I wanted to see him do well.

This was back in the cowboys vs niners days. Every lost counted. Homefield advantage meant everything.
