Crabtree Discussion Thread

I think its also important to remember his age. I would hate to have some of the decisions I made in my early twenties national news. I can only imagine if I was surrounded by a bunch of yes men and a little cash in my pocket.
Take it for what its worth but nancy gay was on csn and she said she thinks this gets resolved very soon.

I would have never turned down 16 million dollars

yea, problem is crabtree has not personally spoken on this. Everything we hear is hearsay and conjecture.

You have no idea what you would do. Its so beyond any of our realities that its impossible to say. Yeah the logical answer is of course you would take the deal but you never know. My only point is how many dumb decisions did you make as you started becoming a man. I know I made my fair share. Crabtrees are just under a microscope broadcast at a national level.

Big props to Jed York. I know he was simply answering a question, but since he let it slip that he wants a face to face with Crabtree, he's got ever sports news channel/publication voicing their opinion on the matter. This put the ball in crabtree's camp to set up and make the next move. Before that interview we were all left to specualate on every detail or rumor heard. Now we know their is an open invitation for a sit down. If Crabtree accepts, I am willing to bet a deal is done soon. If he or his representation rejects, we will know where he stands. Either way, way to go.

The big question is: if Jed York was such a genius, why did they not meet sooner??? This guy has held out > 50 days??? Jed should have done this long ago...the Yorks all need Viagra intravenously...grow a pair! A FTF meeting costs you nothing...the Yorks are the worst owners in the League...

I've about had it with him. If he's not going to meet with the owner let him start pondering his next move next offseason.

Give him this weekend. He will be on the sideline of the Texas/Tech game. Let him get that itch to get back in the game. Let him talk to the people around the game. Then come Monday, hopefully something can get worked out.

I hope you are kidding...you won't take a meeting for $20 million...what???

I thought it was week 3 or something.

This is beginning to to sound like the Alex Smith excuse thread ("oh he's too young, he's too hurt, he played in a weird system, etc")...Money is money and he will not see this again...
Personally I would sign for $16,000,000.00 guaranteed but if they try to low ball me with $15,000,000.00 or even $15,999,999.99 I'd just go crash at Deion's couch this year. But I think the offer is solid.

Im not excusing his holdout. Im defending him against the vitriolic attacks which imo are uncalled for.

Wait so now you're telling me Crabtree isn't Satan...
Lets not forget about Vikings OT Bryant McKinnie . He was the Minnesota Vikings 1st round pick in 2002. He held out and didn't sign his deal until right before Week 10! McKinnie has since gone on to have a successful NFL career and has been a Pro-Bowler.
