yes but he has never had a coach like Singletary. The guy is a HOFer at the LB position which Brooks plays. If that doesn't motivate him to want to learn from one of the greatest then just cut him now.

There is no justifying your position that our team neglected the depth at WILL and SAM. Instead, they evaluated the talent we had on our team at those position and felt they had what was needed. That is evident in the trade we had with Carolina. We passed on Brown for the future because they thought we had enough to do damage...obviously.

Your contention that Brooks is a slime, IYO, is based on his history away from the influences of Singletary. I think, IMO, that you underestimate the magnitude that Singletary has on each one of his players including Brooks. In fact, it has been documented in local media that Brooks received Singletary's wrath for missing just one day of OTA's...OTA's shouldn't be that big of a deal in most peoples' eyes...not Singletary.

Brooks, has talent, period. Whether he uses it wisely is the issue.

I respect your experience in evaluating young potential NFL players, but I simply disagree with your position. I believe that Singletary will actually reach him and transform him into the player he can be.

I just hope for Brooks' sake and our team's pass rush, that you are wrong!

You assume that Singletary has magical powers that no other head coach or position coach or defensive coordinator has been able to tap in Brooks. I will believe it when I see it. And, I didn't see it all of last season when Singletary was Brooks' position coach.

I will go by Brooks' history of worthlessness in this league, and say that his impact will be tiny, not even worth board consideration.

Another point in Brooks' favor is the addition this year of a pass rushing coach in Al Harris.

But what other credentials does Harris have besides playing in the league?? It would make me feel a lot better if I could see that he actually help develop some players.

Thank you!!! I think Sing will be a good coach, but I do not understand why people think he has Jedi powers?? Most of these players are at least 22 years old. If the light has not come on yet, it never will.

Brooks has all the makings of being our current version of Roderic Green. He's some one we'll be able to cut and bring back again and again if we want to. I'd be thrilled if he turns out to be a rotational player on the defense. At this point he's one of the last 3 players to make our 53 man roster. The world if full of people with NFL tools and no NFL desire.

He couldn't make the cut on a very bad Bengals defense, losing out to the likes of former 49er Jim Maxwell. Teams have long accomodated him to try different positions due to his physical attributes, but that does not make a good football player.

As I am sure you have played the game before, certain guys have great physical skills, but don't have a feel for the game. They may be great athletes, but are not good football players. Meanwhile, a guy with limited athletic ability, but has excellent instincts, can become a good football player.

This offseason will provide yet another opportunity for Brooks to prove the doubters wrong. He has failed at every attempt so far, and I don't see the light suddenly clicking on.

I honestly believe that this kid is special. Being from VA and watching allot of UVA games I must say that HE OWNED the ACC. A monster amongst boys. I know about all the discipline problems but when he is on the football field he makes plays. We gotta give him a shot.

He's getting his shot this summer, and since he only has an often injured J.Moore and a very raw D.Briggs as competition, he has a pretty good shot ( I think Harris is a lock to make it as Haralsons backup)

I still think we may sign another OLB before the season starts, more of a rangy type that can cover and pass rush

I would also consider grabbing T.Laboy, even though he's out for the season with a biceps injury, sign him and IR him, I'd love to have him on the team in 2010

he sicks... two pos we'll end up being heavy in... wr and lb. Well end with 6 or 7 wrs and at least 8 or 9 lbs

Gets cut. The league is littered every year with players who possess physical talent but not the mental makeup to be nfl players. It was worth a shot.
