It will prob come down between talent, and reliability, between battle ziegler and spurlok. Every yr people count out battle and he always makes it. This yr is a little different due to the talent on the roster!

were gonna end up cutting a WR thats could start on most teams, sucks but thats how deep we are, ifwe keep 5 its gonna be crabs morgan hill bruce jones.
if 6 its gonna be crabs morgan hill bruce jones zieg or battle.
either way i think zieg and battle can be atleast a third on most teams, maybe even a second on teams like the bears.

If any of those 2 make it, its Battle, he is a vet, and Zeigler is still PS eligible.
But right now i see 5 WR's making it.
The locks:
Bruce
Jones
Crabs
Morgan
Hill IMO will make it, but i dont buy him as being great yet, i like him, but he needs to prove it more, same with Morgan, who i think could be our 1st 1,000 yard receiver.

Kronic, I would agree with your assessment for the most part. However, I think that Bruce is more of a lock at this point than Hill especially with the addition of Crabtree and the potential emergence of Morgan as our possible future stars at WR.

C'mon he isn't as bad as you think he is. He was doing good in that Miami game up until that last play were Joey Porter sacked Hill.
people are too hard on him as a backup he is good for depth

We are pretty deep at WR so I could see Battle as a possiblity. Sims I could also easily see. I think that MS really seems to like Roman's veteran experience as an insurance policy against Goldson's staying healthy so I don't think he is a likely candidate.
I love what Battle has meant to this team , but we do have some young talent at WR. I agree that Singletary has made it very clear that there is a roster spot for Roman. I hope that Alex Boone is good enough to make Sims just a bad memory.
I am a Battle fan too ------ and he has made the team every year so far. He was one of our more productive WR's until he got injured. With the emphasis on the smash mouth run game ------ maybe he makes it again ?

Well, perhaps it is just that he hasn't been buried deep enough yet? !!

i know you know this but didn't that pretty much cost us the game.
Thats because VD was blocking Porter all game but for some strange reason sat out that play.

Which some of the blame should also be placed on the coaches shoulders.

Yea, you're probably right. But if I was the GM and it was between Hill and Bruce, I'd let Bruce go even though Bruce is the better player right now. Bruce won't be here after this upcoming season anyways.

I agree. I'm not looking for him to be cut nor will I be happy about it, but there's too many good, young and cheaper WR prospects on this team that I can't see how Battle survives. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't make it to training camp...giving him the opportunity to catch on with another team as early as possible would be the proper thing to do, IMO.

That's the least our brass can do for the guy... He proved himself in the past and I think we owe him that much.

Uh oh, you opened the "cut Battle" floodgates again.
Oh, and as far as picking up battle of the streets if we need him is concerned, he will not be available, not gonna happen.
I believe we can pick up or trade for someone if we cut roman and we should. Simms I see definately being cut but then resigned.
I agree i think Battle would be gone in a second........I live here in Indy, I bet the Colts would die to have Battle as a 3rd or fourth rec., i.e Stokley back in the day, many teams could use him for this purpose
