What do you guys think about the way our o-line is currently constructed?
To me its a hungry group of guys built for our new system. Forget last years 55 sacks. All those 7 step drops gave way to much time for the defense to T off. The way our new system is going to be run, alot of those sacks are going to be eliminated. The addition of Marvel Smith i belive is going to elavate everyones play. (Hes got 2 rings)
Plus it is our lines strength to run block and i think we are going to do what we do best. I expect a much improved offensive line for the 2009 season.

I think that gives us a pretty good line to roll with into the year, with a decent backup Adam Snyder at the tackles positions.
That being said, I think there is a definite chance we grab an OL somewhere during the first day.

Yes - assuming Smith's back holds up through the majority of the regular season.

We were strong in run blocking? That is odd, I remember us getting stuffed in short situations a lot more than I remember us succeeding.

an o-line built for running the ball
they could be the smashmouth line sing wants, the interior concerns me a bit, but solid overall

What concerns you about the interior?? Baas, Heitmann, or Rachal???? I think we have a solid (not great, but avg) line across the board, but we need more/better depth.
I'd really like to see us pick up a starting center, so we can move Heitmann BACK to guard.

The OL looks pretty good. Wouldn't mind seeing Andre Smith in a 49er uniform next year though.

Heitmann is the only one I trust. Baas's pass protection worries me the most, he seems to lack awareness and he looks like he is wearing cement boots when hes on the field. Rachal might be the real deal. We will see this season.

You lost me at Hietman?
Once again, folks. You are not required to post. In fact, if you cannot spell our best offensive lineman's name correctly, do us a favor and don't post.
Now, back to my post on Patrike Willise.
Woof!!!
