Now that Manny Lawson isnt being held back by Mike Nolan and his ideotic defensive scheme. How many sacks for lawson this year?

I doubt he'll have more than 7. Once he gets picked up by a blocker he's pretty much out of the play.

Nah bro, it's not a possibility, it's a fact. He's proven to be incapable of shedding blocks in the past. Whether or not he's improved in that department is yet to be seen. The addition of weight may help him out, which would be great, but it's not something I'm really expecting.

well one time Lawson had 2 sacks in a game. So if we blitz him more i'll say 8-10 sacks

Was this that game in detroit? Or did he just get a really good INT along the sideline?

Wasn't the INT against the Rams?

oh yea it was against the rams

Yup and that int was manny covering holt!
hes still pretty young dont quote me but i think hes only 24-25 so hes got alot to prove and some time to do it

A college DE converting to an OLB needs several years of good coaching to reach the potential that was seen when he was drafted. Having been thrown into a a role that he has never played, with a terrible supporting cast, did you really expect him to play at an elite level? Lawson was and still is an impressive physical presence and has the tools to be a strong pass rusher. Block shedding, as well as all passrushing moves MUST be constantly practiced day in and day out to be successful against NFL competition and with Nolans base 4-2 you can bet Lawson spent alot more time working on his coverage skills in practice, as LBs in a 4-2 scheme are not responsible for generating the passrush.

I agree with practice and good coaching he will be a force to be recond with in the NFL... and along justin smith.. P willy we could have a real strong defence this year

It was really a great play. This guy shows some nice flashes, I am looking forward to see how he plays this year with a new HC if that can/will improve his play.

omg. that poll is so un-realistic. the average is around 8.5 sacks?? come on, now.. i mean, im hoping for that too, but if you say more than 6, its a bit of a stretch, given his history
