New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees (knee) participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 29, and is not on the injury report for Week 4, reports Jeff Duncan, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Brees was wearing brace on his sore left knee. He said he underwent an MRI on his knee and everything checked out fine.

No such thing as a "strained" MCL. You strain muscles, not ligaments. You sprain/tear ligaments.

If it's a degree 1 partial tear, then it takes 2-4 weeks to heal and no surgery is required.
