Everybody ..even Tom Brady, Payton Manning misses an open receiver once in a while! Consistency is the key! But with Alex Smith, consistency seems to have had an opposite meaning in what the coaches have wanted. He consistently overthrows his receivers, throws high and holds on the ball too long.

I don't think that Matt Leinart has that problem so missing one wide open receiver doesn't make him a bust just yet.

But I do believe that this is Alex Smith's LAST chance with the 49er's. If he doesn't perform to expectations this year, I think Singletary will root him out next year.

Alex Smith sorely NEEDS a very good QB coach to work with him and his fundamentals. So far I haven't seen (other than Turner) any 49er's coach have that ability. So it's really a two way street!
