Benedict was someone that I had my eye on for a later pick. His time isn't that far off what he's run in the past. But he's got pretty good size, and decent mobility. At that time, will he slip a little bit? Maybe someone to take a flier on during day 2 if he falls?

He's got dreams much bigger than the NFL. I could be wrong.

I'm starting to like Okam more and more.

Have played in college i will tell you if you don't love the game you wouldn't make it to the NFL, you wouldn't be able to put in the countless hours of training in college and film study etc. I can tell you being in a locker room if you bring up the possibility of the NFL everyone gets giddy, I am not sure what team your buddy played on but his locker room was exactly the opposite of ours.

My friend had three teammates in his class that went on to play in the NFL (he was also a combine invite, but had to go into surgery to repair a tenden in his wrist): A QB, a CB, and a DL. The CB was the one who did not enjoy playing football that much, and had 8 mediocre years in the NFL to show for it. His talent carried him throughout his career, but he could have been so much better.

I know, and having seen and talk to this kid upclose, I am really sad to see him falling like he has. I wasn't impressed by him at all at the senior bowl. However, if this drop continues we may be able to get him in the 4th as our TED so that wouldn't be all bad bc I love the kid and his skills, under singletary he could be great.

I think Lokey is better than Okam. I really do. It is a real shame. I would add Corey Lynch to the list as well.

Totally agree...Lokey reminds me a lot of Kelly Gregg, both in size, toughness and style of play.

Lokey could definitely help this team, whether in a 3-4 or 4-3. He's a tough, hard-nosed player with a non-stop motor. He's a little undersized (6'2", 290ish), and not the most athletic guy around, but he's the kind of guy that will lay it all on the line for his teammates.

As a final update on Derrick Harvey, a number of sites and articles have him listed at 271, including Scout.com. I think someone blew the number, posted 291, and it spread before the correction.

Here is an interesting article about Harvey, who weighed in at 271, according to this article, and Phillip Merling, at 277. Both talk about the 3-4 and 4-3 defense.

Okum has taken and passed the LSAT. Learned chess at a school for the gifted when he was a kid. He also sounds very intelligent and composed.

My opinion of him, as a person and a player, has risen.

Sunday Combine Primer:

Groups 4,5, and 6 perform today, which are the QB, WR, RB positions. The "skilled" positions. They will go in order.

WHATEVER YOU DO, BE NEAR A TV AT 11AM. WATCHING GROUP 4 RUN THE FORTY WILL BE THE MOST COMPELLING PART OF THE COMBINE..... OR MAYBE IT IS LATER WHEN THE JUNIOR RB'S RUN IN GROUP 6

Here are some guys to watch in each group:
Group 4-
Josh Johnson- Should be the fastest and most athletic of the QB's today
Andre Caldwell- Look for a 4.40, and a rise into the early second round
Colt Brennan- Will this be his comeback day?
Eric Ainge- Needs to erase some doubts from Senior Bowl
Donnie Avery- probably will not run, but I hope he does. Sub-4.30?
Davone Bess- His forty could shift him dramatically either way
Adarius Bowman- Ton of pressure to run fast, show good hands
Brian Brohm- Is he a first rounder, or overrated? The test begins today
Early Doucet- A LOT riding on his forty today. Needs to be closer to 4.4 than 4.5
Harry Douglas- Needs to show big-time speed to move into second round
Joe Flacco- Chance to be a first rounder with excellent workout today
Lavelle Hawkins- His forty will be huge. Will be a stud in the "on the field" drills.
Chad Henne- Needs to stem the Flacco-love affair
DeSean Jackson- Will run right before.....
Dexter Jackson- Let's make this a pay per view for these two guys. Will be awesome.

Group 5- Not as sexy as group 4, but a lot to watch. Having Malcolm Kelly back out of the forty was the big blow.
Mario Manningham- Needs a sub 4.40 time for consideration as a first round pick.
Jordy Nelson- Can solidy a top 100 pick if he busts 4.50.
Darius Reynaud- Can he join the mix of D. Jackson, Donnie Avery, Harry Douglas, Eddie Royal in the run for top slot WR? Needs a huge workout
Eddie Royal- A great start in the bench yesterday. Can solidy second round grade with a sub 4.40.
Jerome Simpson- Watch out for this kid. Tall, long arms, huge hands; a fast forty could propel him into the second round.
Limas Sweed- Looks like he will run. Has a chance to make a huge statement.
Devin Thomas- First chance to show his stuff. Needs to blow people away to move into top grade area.

Group 6-
Thomas Brown- Lost in the middle of the juniors, but could sneak into top 100 picks. Could leapfrod past Mike Hart today.
Jamal Charles- It's show time. This is his event, and he needs to blow people away to crack the first round.
Tashard Choice- Another guy lost in the mix, but one helluva good RB.
Matt Forte- About the only question left is his speed. He needs to post a 4.50 time or better to jump into the second round.
Mike Hart- Could he slip out of the top 100 picks today? Don't be surprised.
Peyton Hillis- This kid is a stud. Easily the best FB in the draft.
Chris Johnson- Can he bust 4.30? If so, watch his draft stock soar.
Felix Jones- He needs a huge day to join the big 3.
Darren McFadden- Needs to clearly outperform Mendenhall and Stewart to secure top RB slot. Right now, he's dropping on boards.
Xavier Omon- Probably will not be the best performer, but surely a sleeper today. Needs to show he can compete with the big boys.
Ray Rice- Needs to show he is the better option than Smith, Hart, Forte, Choice, Slaton to claim the top slot for second tier guys.
Kevin Smith- A lot of pressure and competition. Should fit somewhere in the middle of every catagory.
Jonathan Stewart- If he can run a sub 4.40, he could secure himself a top 15 pick, and possibly a run at the top overall RB.
Rashard Mendenhall- Will probably not run as fast as McFadden; however, if he matches him across the board, he could be the draft shock of 2008, possibly leapfrogging McFadden.

And this is just talk on the forty, which is a tiny slice of what happens today.

According to NFL.com combine coverage, DeSean Jackson just ripped an amazing forty time. The time has not been posted on their site, but it looks like it might be a sub 4.30. Supposedly, a huge amount of buzz by scouts.
