This will not be as detailed. Several of the players remain from my initial mock, as I am opting to stick with some of those predictions. See that thread for detailed descriptions of those players: www.49erswebzone.com/forum/nfl-draft/172151-ontheclocks-mock-premiere-23-13/
Initial thoughts: I believe the Niners pick will come down to three players if they trade up: DL Sheldon Richardson, Tank Carradine, or Datone Jones. I personally want any BUT Carradine, however.. I have great concern he may be the target.
Assumption: 49ers trade up in the 1st using their just 1st and early 2nd round pick to move up.
1. Cornelius Carradine-DE-Florida State, 6-4 276 4.90
2. John Jenkins-NT-Georgia, 6-4 346 5.23
3. Quinton Patton-WR-Louisiana Tech, 6-0 208 4.48
3. David Quessenberry-OT-San Jose State, 6-5 302 5.06
4. Josh Evans-FS-Florida, 6-1 207 4.54
4. Gerald Hodges-LB-Penn State, 6-1 243 4.78
5. Jeff Baca-OL-UCLA, 6-3 302 4.98
6. Terry Hawthorne-CB-Illinois, 6-0 195 4.31
7. Reggie Dunn-WR-Utah, 5-9 178 4.26
7. Matt Furstenberg-TE-Maryland, 6-4 242 4.62
7. Rashaan Melvin-CB-Northern Illinois, 6-2 192 4.44
Now, I honestly hope I'm wrong. I would like some of these players, but it would really hamper my excitement if we drafted Carradine. I trust my eyes and my gut, and I just don't think he's going to be good. We'll see though, but I wouldn't be surprised to see us do something like this.

My guess is that they expect Evans to fall to the third or fourth round and barring a star falling earlier, they take a safety in the mid-rounds and then perhaps go ahead and sign Woodson after the draft.

I could deal with this move!

Well it looks like the guy they thought was a star made it far enough for them to trade up and get him. So much for the Woodson idea. Funny that I had Eric Reid to us at #34 in my previous mock. Curious to see how many players end up being correct.
Right now there are a number of players I'd love to see us land in the 2nd.

What's your evaluation of Reid? Polarizing prospect...

My report on Reid from my only other mock:
After Vaccaro, I like Reid better than any of the other safety propsects because he brings a balanced game of coverage skills and run support that I think are lacking in many of the other safety prospects. The kid plays fast and tackles with power. The difference I see in Reid compared to the majority is that he typically does not get pushed back. I think the 49ers are looking for players with great football instincts and that is what Reid possesses. He is a confident player who is strong on the tackle and does a good job of putting himself in good position to make plays. Overall, he's simply a playmaker, and a guy who would fit well on this team.
Bottom line: While Reid is not the strongest coverage safety, he's a high-upside player who Donatell can build in that area to give us a complete and potentially top-tier NFL safety.

You nailed the first player - just a different round.
Hope we get a couple more of your selections.

I would personally love for the draft to fall closer to my first mock. However, based on Baalke's drafting style, his history and trends that I see, I see an extremely high likelihood of several other players matching what I had in either of the two mocks I did.
The infatuation with high-upside players leads me to believe that the following guys could still be targets:
DE Bennie Logan, LSU
DE Margus Hunt, SMU
NT John Jenkins, Georgia
CB Tyrann Matheiu, LSU
OLB Sio Moore, UConn
WR Quinton Patton, La. Tech
